Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Hi,

I think we might have met each other down in Cambridge,MD at the Hyatt a few seasons ago. Your situation sounds familar to the fellow I met and talked with briefly. If so great to seet you online.

Well we are going on our third season on our 97. Still enjoying her down on the bay. Some things to think about. Personally I prefer the 98-99 style helm. None have the captain chair the 340's have which I prefer. All the 330's will have lower headroom at the helm. I can stand comfortable in the center of the boat at the helm, but it is tight to uncomfortable to stand at the helm. The cabin on the 98-99 around the forward berth has trim that comes down flush with the bed mattress which is odd and limits the berth by a and inch or two. 97 and earlier doesn't have that.

We have the dinette on our boat not the sofa arrangement. The dinette I feel converts to a much more comfortable third berth when needed. It also seats four for breakfast which is nice when we overnight on her. The head while it may feel a little small is comfortable. I was worried it was too small but it is well laid out and very usable. We all shower on the boat and no one complains.

The boat runs well and I think that a 20K cruise on the bay is pretty ideal in most conditions. Ours feels more comfortable at a 24K cruise but depending on the chop on the bay sometimes it pounds at that speed.

Overall she is great and I think the lines of of the 90's sea rays have held up well over time. Of course your in a thread of biased owners!!

Take Care and enjoy shopping.

The digital hour meters on the tach just work off the 12v on from engine , nothing really to connect, i changed mine over to digital when my tachs went flaky I think there were stock on the 99 model (mine have the sea ray logo). i would just check to see if there is a power lead that is not connected on back of tachs,
I pulled my dash panel and the Tach's are all wired up. Same connections on both.

I need to double check the wiring schematics to find where the tach cable bundle connects to the engine and which wire wasn't connected to 12v (which engine 12v you ask...me too)...

Update edit:
I checked the schematics and while it does detail the tach and sync connections, it's does not address the hour meter at all...
GND is well indicated -
Black -GND
Violet -Port/Stbd Ignition
Gray/Red -Port Tach sender to sync
Gray/Green -Stbd Tach sender to sync
Blue -backlight voltage from dimmer

OK, not so simple...

Hi,
any of you who pulled out your clarion m1000r. did you notice if there was any aux input on the stereo? I just picked up a sirius weather reciever which also has radio option, and would like to see if there was a way for me to feed it back in to stereo.

thanks

We "splashed" yesterday. Did I tell all of you how much I like my "new to me" boat? We cruised down to our new marina on Lake St. Clair and to my surprise I was doing 27.8 mph at 3000 rpm, according to the Apelco GPS unit on board, wahooo!!!!!!!!! Didn't think the performance would be that good! The water was flat and what a ride.

Wow. That pretty good. I get about 24mph @3000. Need to turn 3200 to get up to 28mph. Best of luck with her.

My #'s are more in line with yours but I am turning 4 blade props. What do you have on yours Tom?

Is anyone out ther doing anything inventive to lock the fuel tanks in their boat?

Wellswa,

Where on Lake St. Clair are you keeping your boat?

Rumrunner, We are at Harbor North marina in Harrison Twshp.for this season. We joined the Harbor North/South Yacht club as well. Where are you located?

Wellswa, We are at MacRay Harbor. I was out there last weekend and there were a couple new (older) 33 Dancers down our row. Thought one might have been you!

This warm winter is messing with my mind. I'm planning on splashing Monday. But I feel like I'm way behind because it's been so warm. I just cant buff and wax fast enough.

Anyone ever have a problem with their fresh water pump not turning off? Got the boat in the water and filled up the water tank; when I turned on the fresh water pump it seems to want to continually run. I opened each spigot; blew out the air. Still it seems that some sort of sensor must be bad...it usually would run a few seconds after I turned on a spigot or flushed the head, now it seems it wants to run non-stop. Anything I can check?

try cleaning the strainer first (it is located in bilge connected to pump) if that does not fix issue then most probably pressure sensor, if that is case then almost cheaper to replace pump

Re: Official 330 Sundancer Thread, 1994 330 height with arch

Hello folks, I'm in the process of buying a 1994 330 Sundancer and it will need to be transported to me overland. I thought I saw somewhere what the official height is with factory radar arch but can't put my fingers on it. Does anyone know? I'd hate to have to have the arch dismantled.
Thanks.

sea ray has most of the manuals on their site, but not sure on 94 but on my 95 i have had it towed 2 times once from ct to pa and the other time from pa to NJ neither time did i need to remove the arch, 1st tow was on a semi with low boy trailer the second time was on a hydraulic trailer (the tow operator has exact boat as me a 330, and he did not make me take off the radar either as he knew it was no issue) good luck

Thanks-good to know. I think I've been worrying about a non-issue, and my broker just told me the same as you did.
Regards, Mike
