Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Thanks Greg, I'm going to re heck everything and see if I can get further up the loom where the float switch is wired in

Forgive a bit of a rant but I'm getting really tired of the miserable engineering on this thing. The main bilge pump died, fairly typical every few year maintenance item. There is no way in h__ I can get at the pump. It should be able to be accessed and cleaned underway. I pulled the hatches and deck beams, not even close. You have to take the exhaust off to have a chance at getting down to it. I'm not that big, 5-10 180, but there is no way to get there. To top it off it's all wired with butt connectors. Can't check for power, check pump, check switch without cutting a wire? STUPID! I was planning to install a proper terminal strip like it's supposed to have but of course the leads to the butts are too short. I've done most of the mainteance on my boats for the last 20 years but can't get at anything on this POS.

How do you turn off all the message auto checking and save on the forum. You have to type S O S L O W to keep it from dropping half of the text.

Anyone ever get a leak under the fridge when turning on the water faucets in the galley and head sink? Just find it weird that both faucets would break at the same time, unless there was something else causing the leak.

Anyways if it's the fixtures, how hard is it to pull everything apart under the sinks?

On my 300DA the cockpit, galley and head sinks all connected into a common drain point out a port side thru-hull. Maybe you have a drain leak. Does it leak if you plug the sink and fill it up (that would rule out the drain)?

Not drain, I just poured 2 gallons of water into the drain and no leak

AGREED
you are on the right track. I had to take the same things off. Then hook my foot under the aft bench and use a small piece of 1x to unseat the bilge. Then remove three screws from stringer to be able to pull the pump up enough to flip it over and see if something lodged in bottom. Once I verified it doa, I clipped the wired right at the bilge to allow me some breathing room to wire up new one.
it took me several several hours as I am new to this and figuring out just what to remove and how to remove that to get down there
all day project for a novice as myself but saved some boat bucks for sure

Does anyone have a copy of the wiring diagram for a 1999 330 DA? Thanks, Mark

I think member Creekwood has a cleaned up copy of the wiring diagram. See post #1307 in this thread.
Or PM me and I'll see if I can find a way to transfer a 6.5Meg pdf file to you.

I do. I took the bad Sea Ray scan and did some sharpening of the image. It's still not great but it's ok if printed or if you zoom in on the image. If anyone wants it, just PM me and I'll send it.

Thanks Tim, I'll see if Creekwood can send his. Might be easier. Thank you.

Anyone put a Rocna anchor on the factory pulpit? How was the fit? Looking to replace the danforth.

I replaced mine with a 15kg stainless Bruce style claw anchor. It fits nicely and adds a bit of bling. The Bruce is good for our sand or mud anchorages. Its not great in weeds though.

I doubt a Rocna would fit with that hoop on the top and our style of pulpit.

I looked at Rocna but eventually replaced the original plow with a 35lb Manson Boss after a lot of night time drags in rough weather .. The boss has been brilliant and resets fast even with a full 180 degree wind change... I simply moved (redrilled) the roller under the pulpit down and back slightly to allow the anchor shaft to clear the fibreglass housing at front of pulpit. http://www.manson-marine.co.nz/SitePages/galvBoss.htm

Its down to Bruce or the Rocna Vulcan (no hoop). I do like the bling of the stainless! The reviews are saying the Vulcan (Rocna) is good in sand/clay/mud/weeds, which is 95% of what I anchor in. Occasionally up north its rock, but unless you grab a crack, nothing is really good in rock.
