Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Re: Official 330 Sundancer Thread - Hidden water

I have had occasional water in the compartment where the fresh water pump is location under the aft bench/berth cushion that I was never able to find the source for. I finally found the source, but am not sure how to deal with it. There is a second small compartment behind the outside wall of the under-bench compartment that opens to that compartment through a small notch where the water tank fill/vent hoses come in. The floor of that compartment if about 1" below the bottom of the cross-over notch. That small compartment is full of water, so when it over-flows it drains into the pump compartment. I'm guessing the water is coming down the fill/vent hoses somehow into that compartment, but I don't see any place where that compartment has a drain that is clogged or doesn't have a drain at all. The notch is too small to get a hand pump into to pump it out. It appears the compartment is behind the inner side wall of the battery compartment, but I don't see any connections to it there either.

It's a 1994 model. Is anyone familiar with that small compartment and if it is supposed to have a drain somewhere that may be clogged, or had a similar problem that you found a fix for?

Thanks - Greg

Does anyone know where the cockpit stairwell drain goes to in a 1994 Sundancer? The hose from the drain fitting is visible in the battery compartment and loops back through the forward wall of the battery compartment but I can't find any access to see where it goes after that. Does the cabin stair tread remove somehow? The water tank fill and vent lines cross under the cabin side stair as well but there is nothing coming out under the sink with them from the cockpit stairwell drain hose.

Thanks - Greg

Hey GregP. I would be interested in your findings when you get your props done. I purchased a 97 330 this year and noticed the same things. Gas consumption, more thrust coming from one side and slightly off throttles. Keep us posted. Thanks!

Hello everyone, i have a 1999 330. I'm upgrading my electronics. Gps raymarine e7 series new radar and depth finder and auto pilot. Now I have the older Raytheon chart plotter and the new raymarine e7 will be a couple of inches shorter. Any idea what I should use to cover the hole ? Also will auto pilot pump be difficult to install? I see the hydraulic lines and they look pretty simple and self explanatory. Anyone around the Hudson River wanna make some $$ helping me out?? Lol any help is greatly appreciated

Hello everyone, I went with the Raymarine A95 MFD. I saw the fit a lot better and i will need to cut for some space. I will be purchasing the depth finder but don't know which ray marine model I should buy for my gps. I'll call ray when i get the chance i just hear so many horror stories.
Also does anyone here need a Raytheon RL70 in working condition. I'll part it with the radar but the radar is still installed and the boat is shrink rapped. so you'll have to wait for the radar. i'll sell here much cheaper than anywhere else so if you need it let me know.

Thanks for that visual, I see the A9x is just shy of 10 inches wide. I'm curious if I can get a Garmin 840 in that spot, it is 11.5" wide by 7.5 high (Don't think the height would be the problem). My boat is wrapped right now so its not easy to get in. (Also -17 degrees!).

Good morning 330DA crew:
If anyone can point me to wiper refill replacements and wiper swing adjustment procedure for the 1995 330DA it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance

Mine is a 96 and the measurements in the manual aren't correct for mine. It was more like 12' from keel to the top of the arch. I measured it when I had to trailer it. It was 13' high on the trailer so I didn't have to remove the arch. I found out when I ordered new canvas that some were made with a higher arch than others.

As far as replacements, I got mine at a NAPA auto parts store. I brought the old ones in and they matched them right up. I wiped down the metal with a paper towel soaked with WD-40. I did that about once a month. The blades were well under $10 each. For that price, they are annual replacements.

I'm gonna have to cut the side and I was thinking of adding a piece of marine grade wood to cover the gap from top to bottom. It's a good thing I haven't bought the radar. Raymarine is about to release a New radar called quantum which looks really nice

My advice is to not do anything that will not look professionally installed. You will lose a lot of value on resale. Using wood will look like DYI since there is no other wood on the boat other than the fake burl dash panels. There may be a way to make it look perfect, but I don't see how cutting out the side would work and look right.

If there isn't space, there isn't space. I would pick the largest size that will fit the space.

When I say side I mean making the width of the hole longer so that the new gps can slide in. New gps is longer than old one but new GPS is a tad shorter than old one. So my idea is to get a piece of wood that's maybe 1" in height and same width as the GPS and put it in the bottom just so the GPS slides in place. You won't see the GPS because the new GPS has a trim that will cover the wood.

Gotcha. Love to see some pictures of during and after installation.

I haven't tried to install the blade yet but, dimensionally, it is correct. Anco 31-16 or refill 19-16. The blade has a 7mm bayonet. The Anco hardware is black instead of the OE stainless.

Hi everyone, went to the boatshow yesterday to purchase a new plotter, and other goodies. We were aiming for Garmin on our way down there, but after researching them all while there, and speaking to the reps, we ended up with the Simrad NSS7 EVo2. Great looking unit and the functionality looks really easy to use. We'll be adding the broadband radar and other goodies sometime this season. Looking forward to the install after the snow melts.

Molson, I have the same boat as yours and installed a Simrad NSS8 chartplotter and broadband radar unit in mine 2 seasons ago and love both of them. Easy to use with buttons and touch screen display.

Awesome! Did yours have the old Raytheon radar in it? I'll have to remove it first, I hope the existing hole isn't terrible to cover over. I may use starboard for that.
