Hope Springs is where I kept my last 2 boats, in the boatel. I wish a 340 would fit in the boatel, I loved keeping a boat in there. The one I am going to look at is in VA Beach, 8.1s with V-Drives.

It’s easy to access. It is located under a floor access panel at the base of the stairs in the cabin. The AC and shower drain empty into the shower sump. It’s easy to access, easy to work on, and easy to replace.

I dropped a dual voltage stainless Isotherm Cruise 130 in when my original isotherm kicked the bucket. It was a tight fit, had to do some minor sanding of the cabinetry to get her in. Looks great, runs quiet, doesn't use much juice, the beer is wicked cold. I bought it through West Marine with someone's Port Supply discount.

I've replaced the box and then every component inside the box at some point of ownership. Just like yours, they get nasty inside. I find that halfway through the season I have to pull the lid and bring a hose down there to give a good rinse. Also there is a little rubber check valve on the way out of the box that rots and warps, allowing water to leak back into the box so it's a constant cycling of the pump every few minutes which really wears out the pump and the float. You might have some blockages in the some of the lines that just need a good cleaning. Outside of that, the last poster is correct, they are cheap replace as far as boat dollars go.

AC and Shower only drain into the box from what I can see. Yes, VERY simple to access. Much easier than impellers. So clearing the crud typically does not fix the issue and most folks have bought new pump and float switch? I am going to thoroughly flush/clean switch and pump before replacing. Hopefully that makes it pump as intended.

If manually triggering the float work then it is probably just dirty. Give it a good cleaning top to bottom. I spray it down with Spray-9 to clean it out regularly. Best preventative advice is to clean out the screen tube regularly and to only use liquid soap in the shower. Soap bars tend to clog a lot as the soap re-congeals when it is sitting in the box. Frequent use of the shower drain will also help it as it flushes our whatever has drained in.

I did have a problem with mine when I first got the boat - I replaced the pump only and it was a relatively simple wire-to-wire crimp in replacement. Just keep the crimps out of the box ;)

When we purchased, the surveyor suggested pouring some PineSol down the shower drain to keep everything clean and fresh. We have been doing this about once a month or so, depending on usage and it has worked very well. The admiral like the Tropical Scent as it also helps to keep the head smelling fresh and clean. for several days after putting it in.

Hi guys. New to the site. Looking for a little advice. Admiral and I are buying a home on our local lake, Lake Lanier GA. Unfortunately, ur 340 is just too big of a boat. So it is for sale. As a private seller, what’s the best way to get the word out? It is listed on boat trader now.

    Thanks,

This would be helpful and a good start:
    http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/how-to-sell-my-boat-on-clubsearay-com.408/

This site attracts a lot of Sea Ray owners - some looking for new boats as well as others looking into the Sea Ray family of boats.

I looked at the 2004 340 today. Beautiful boat in great condition. I could not find anything wrong with it that was a deal breaker.

Quick question, I want a cockpit cover. It has one but it's not usable (torn, leaks, poor condition, etc.). Any idea what it will cost to have a new one made?

A factory replacement cockpit cover is approximately $1,026 MSRP complete with supports. This is the original one that would have come from Sea Ray when new and that was manufactured by the Great Lakes Boat Top company for them.

We are a distributor for them and if you are interested please PM as I would need some additional details (or get my info from www.covemarine.com and give me a call). We also offer great CSR discounts and we are a site sponsor.

Thanks, so the 2004 came with one from the factory?

Yes, but like most things with boats... it was a available option if you wanted to buy it. ;)

We also have access to all the original canvas and colors (plus some custom colors) for these models.
