Any clue where you can find HARDWARE FRAME for the camper top for 2003 340 SDA?

Any clue where you can find HARDWARE FRAME for the camper top for 2003 340 SDA?

If you're talking about a full camper then it's a custom item. Sea Ray never made a camper for this model. If you're in need of the hardware for the sunshade they were made by Great Lakes Boat Top and we (Cove Marine) can help you with that. If it's just a particular piece that you need to replace we may be able to help too.

I'll try to remember to get some pics soon...I made a couple small changes to the table over the years to make the table easier to put up and take down and to make it sturdier...

Thanks Cliff. Will start with a bare table and start figuring out mounting options over winter.

Also, anyone trying to use a Magma on rod holder mount with camper top frame in the way here is a solution. I moved the rod holder mount to the edge of the grill base. Note in pic 4 the mount was moved to front left corner to be on the grills center of gravity(very important or the grill will want to swivel . This allows about 1/2" between the grill and camper-top frame. Stress tested the grill hanging this way and the mount has plenty of strength. Grill sits very stable. Obviously grill will not be mounted while underway. Fits nicely where the slide in cooler used to be behind the cockpit fridge.

I will try to put together a write over the next few days. We have been busy on a couple of very cool projects consuming my time.

Hey Kevin. Can you let me know how the Axioms did for you on reading engine info? I put my system in last year, but was missing much info. RPMs were there, but fuel tanks, water, and a host of engine info did not show up. Tried the whole detect engine thing, which only took away what readings I had. Just getting back to trying to determine issues. I did read that the whole engine detect thing was for Volvo engines and a different gateway. I have the mercury nmea2000 gateway.

Did the software update today...everything is groovy now except the second (on the right) graphical fuel gauge on the dashboard page. I can change the info in the square below it to be whatever I want, but the graphical display will not allow me to edit instance number, tanks number, etc. A bit weedsy, but does anyone know how to do this?

I have a 2005 340 and my cabin refrigerator is dying. It is a Coolmatic RPD-0110U. Has anyone found a replacement that retrofits with minimal rework? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks

I'm in the middle of the same search...so far I'm homing in on the Isotherm which seems to be the closest in terms of the external size. they make them with or without the freezer and in different colors.

Do you have the original manual for the Coolmatic RPD-0110U? I've been searching on line but can't seem to find the actual dimensions...Please post them if you or anyone has them.

the Isotherm mounting dimensions are:
Height: Minimum: 29 5/8", Maximum: 30 5/16"
Width: Minimum: 21 1/2", Maximum: 23 11/16"
Depth: Minimum: 21 3/8":

ISOTHERM CR-130 Drink INOX, Stainless Steel Door & Panel, 4-Sided Stainless Steel Flange, AC/DC
$1550 at Westmarine.

I put an isotherm in also, some cutting required, not the coldest fridge but it gets the job done

I have the original manual but it is a multi language generic manual for all of their compressor refrigerators. No dimensions. I am going back out to my boat this week and will pull the unit out to take measurements. I'll forward them to you

Can't take full credit for this guys, as another member (Bennet), posted it a while back.

Hope this helps.

Unless I missed it, that list doesn’t have our fridge on it

Started using the shower and thought it would be a good idea to see if the sump-pump was working properly. Opened the access lid with water running into the shower drain to find the box full and overflowing. The forward bilge was kicking in and taking care of the water. Removed the lid, cleared the crud, and it started pumping but only intermittently. Tapped on it a bit and it would take off but then stop so not 100% dependable. Water level was clearly high enough it should have been pumping. I only loosened the crud over the float switch vents so it needs a through cleaning. Didn't have much time Sunday so this weekend will take a closer look. Any suggestions what to do next? Just a good cleaning hopefully? Recall seeing posts on this but cannot find them. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I would replace the entire box. Relatively cheap and easy. I used this one.

I just saw this thread after posting in the parent board...

In my endless, painful, frustrating search for the next boat, I have found a 2004 Sea Ray 340 I will be looking at this weekend. I have never been on one. I have been on a 2000 - 2002.

I love the cabin, especially the starboard couch. I like that it's flush to the floor, and not raised like it is on the 2000 - 2002. I do not want a raised couch/settee. Not sure why manufacturers did that pre early 2000s. I also prefer the settee/couch versus a dinette where the benches face each other.

I am not a fan of the 3 helm/cockpit chairs though, and prefer a bench.

I'm curious to hear what others think about the 3 chair seating, the cabin differences, etc. I'd also like to hear the "things to make sure you check out" while I am inspecting the boat.

Also, I am 6'3"; will I fit in the aft cabin for sleeping? Forward berth? Standing at the helm?

We have the 2006. Love it, lots of room and storage. I am only 5'10", and fit easily on the v berth, sofa or mid cabin beds. So far as the helm, plenty of room. We were a bit hesitant ref the 3 helm seat config, but it actually is quite nice. We looked at 320s first and when we saw the 340, we immediately decided to go with the 340. Very popular model and year span, 04-07. Enjoy.

I just bought my 2006 340 in July. the 3 helm seats would not have been my first choice but we're adapting to them just fine...we got the sportsman version and love it. the cockpit in the sportsman is useful for more than just sitting. the livewell/bait prep/2nd sink area is a great countertop while we're grilling and eating on the boat, and when the aft bench folds down we have enough room to fish.

things I found in boats that we didn't buy...soft spots/delamination on the engine hatch, cabin deck at the sunpad handrails, around the windlass. water staining in the mid cabin on the port side near the head. water staining in the cabin on starboard side near the electrical controls. original electronics (raymarine and Mercury) with bad screens. moldy upholstery, Delaminating cabinetry from water intrusion, rusty moldy bilge.

the one we ended up buying was in dramatically better condition than most we looked at. our boat had 750 hours on it and looked and functioned like new. it had clearly received regular use and regular maintenance. the majority of the boats we looked at had between 300 to 400 hours on them and looked like the owner's forgot they owned a boat...lot's of deferred maintenance. also our 750 hour boat was priced lower by $30K compared to the 300 hour boats.

others had lots of "home made" looking accessories added to them that looked like they were ready to fail and cause problems at any moment. our boat was 100% original and dealer serviced since new.

the forward birth mattress sucks. we added a 4" memory foam mattress topper and that made it great. size wise it's a king size bed with all 4 corners cut off. lots of headroom everywhere except the mid cabin.

Thanks for the feedback, I am not far from you, Richmond, VA. My sister and family live in Mechanicsville, MD so I pass Leonardstown on the trip up. I kept my last 2 boats in Stafford, VA and boated the upper and mid Potomac River. I absolutely love the Potomac and may keep the next boat there again.

750 well maintained/serviced hours is not a lot IMHO and would not scare me. My last boat had close to that. I did engine scans to get the RPM usage during the survey. Boat ran very strong.

Thanks for the feedback.

This is a common failure on all boats, the shower sump pump. I've replaced a few. Is it easy to access on the 2004+ 340? I assume the AC feeds into it as well? Anything else?

We bought ours with 895 hours and we now have 1200. The 8.1 / 496s are said to be bullet proof. We have had 150 gallons of fuel and 12 adults on board and she still has the power to jump up on plane and deliver a great ride. We have the Bravo 3 drives and are lift kept. Major difference in speed, power and engine room space. Have some friends in Stafford that have a 310 and moor @ Hope Springs. We meet them at Gilligan's and Colonial Beach several times a season. If the 340 works out for you, you will love it.
