Yeah, trying to figure that out. Sorry.image doesn't work...
Yes.Isn’t that the vent for the fuel?
Is that when you are supposed to do your first oil change? I was looking the other day for when I needed to get things checked out and all I saw was 100 hours.Honestly, I have a lot of random questions about the boat. Is this the best place to be asking those questions?
Also, has anyone else had to get a warranty replacement on their simrad unit? I took the boat in for the first oil change (20 hrs) last week, and let them know the unit has been sporadically rebooting, frequently, and under various operating conditions. They checked it out and said they would do a warranty replacement because they saw it reboot a handful of times while they were doing the service. Just curious if this is common and if the replacement unit will be subject to the same issue?

20 hrs is what the dealer told us when we took delivery. I found a mercruiser 4.5 manual online and it also states that run time as part of the break-in.
I would do a break in oil change with the outboard as well. Even if not specified by Mercury, dumbing the break in period The oil gets some metals in it and it is good to get them out of the engine. Engine manufacturers are trying to make their products have less maintenance and cheaper to maintain so they are skimping on some of these type of recommendations.Ah. Ok. Well I have outboard. Probably different.
In the olden days, engine break-in oil changes were required at 10 hours no matter what type engine. Without documentation, getting warranty work was iffy. Today, Only Evinrude has eliminated this requirement.
Our Simrad didn't ever reboot, but in shallow water it wouldn't work. When I went into the setup menu I found that it was using the wrong transducer frequency (per default). When I set it to 200 KHZ it has worked OK.
Yes this is the BEST place to get answers to your questions. So, ask away! Welcome to CSR!Honestly, I have a lot of random questions about the boat. Is this the best place to be asking those questions?

I realize you didn't ask me, but I have good data so here it is. The Engineer in me collects lots of numbers so I can evaluate changes and of course see when maintenance is needed in the future. My family is wanting me to get the 190 spx with the outboard. The boat new comes with a 115hp Pro XS.
Can you post your numbers? Top speed at WOT? Top RPM at WOT? Cruise RPM & speed?
I personally like the Yamaha jet boats and the performance but willing to make the family happy with that big sun pad in front of the OB.
Thank you.
I’m sure it’d be a lot cheaper to use 12 V LED waterproof strips from amazon, but here’s the part numbers for the 17, may want to confirm they’re the same. There’s also the cup holders that are lit.I’ve got a 2020 SPX 190 stern drive and have the courtesy light switch, but apparently no lights installed in the cockpit. How could I add these? Does SR sell this as an add-on kit, or is there a better aftermarket solution?

No numbers for the 115. As most have done, we upgraded to the 150.
Stock from the factory after break-in.....47 mph at 5700 rpm. Jumps out of the hole like a rocket. Prop slip 12%.
Switched to a SS Enertia prop (same pitch)....50 mph at 5600 rpm. Even better rocket and from 30 mph to WOT it will give you whiplash. Prop slip 8% (!!!) Fuel usage about 10% lower than a comparable I/O.
All data is off Vesselview and GPS.
Jet boats love to suck up the fuel. If you are in weedy waters they are a PITA. Docking and maneuvering suck.
We had I/Os for 35 years. Also have a jet. Going with the 190 OB was the best move we ever made.
