Official 19SPX/21SPX/SPX190/SPX210 Thread

I personally think the two piece will be fine but my wife read some horror stories online so she says no. And we all know how that goes. :)
Yeah, things get so skewed online. It's not like people go online and say "Hey, let me tell you about this great trailering experience I had with my bow & cockpit covers". And then... how many of those "horror" stories were due to use error - it's always someone else's fault. 'Course, that's not to say that there haven't been issues - but then, there can be issues with anything.

However... I can plainly see that I am outmatched and outgunned here, so I will retreat ;)

If it makes you more comfortable, I've done about 2k miles of interstate trips with the two piece snap downs with no issues. If the clamps on the posts are loose, they'll push down a little, but not really an issue.

Watch out for road tar if you have to go through construction. Not fun to get off.

I'm the proud new owner of a 2015 19 SPX and am looking for a little advice on a few customizations I would like to make.

I would like to add a trolling motor and am curious if anyone else has done this?

Also in looking at the OB version with the all sport package added I was thinking about ordering the parts to add the additional storage areas under the consoles to possibly store the batteries. Has anyone added these hatches yet for this purpose or even for the additional storage space?

Thanks in advance!

what year do I search for parts on a 2020 SPX190 O/B? How long has it been since there has been a change?

I won't own a boat without a kicker. Now, if you mean an electric motor, I personally don't think it would perform well on this hull. If you try it let us know how it works.
Ours IS the OB version. Don't know what extra storage spaces you are referring to.

Without that blasted I/O I have enough storage space that I could easily add a Porta-Potty for the wife. Thus, I never even looked under the consoles.

Now that I have, I see its basically dead space. If you add an upgrades stereo, I believe that's where the subwoofer goes.

Looks to me like a simple mod. Buy some SS hinges and a latch and cut a hole. Some nice white UHMW or Starboard for a door. Sounds like my kind of project.

Sea Ray makes a custom "wedge" for the trolling motor so it mounts nicely on the bow. Get that. It makes things really simple. While you're at it, get the frames/doors for the storage area and just cut the hole to fit. Again, easy, and everything matches. But you could get frames/doors through aftermarket places, as well. But, yes, a trolling motor would work nicely on that boat.

They revised the model number on the I/O in 2017 from 19 SPX to SPX 190, but a significant amount of the parts are the same. Not sure of OB specific tweaks from 17-19, but here's the 2017 OB Parts manual from SR: https://s3.amazonaws.com/srweb-pvt-...-manuals/2017_2017-SPX-OB-19-Parts-Manual.pdf
Thanks.

Yesterday I ordered a cover for it for travel purposes and on the custom cover site it looked like it said 2017-2020 so that's good to know. Has anyone ever ordered the side pieces for the Bimini top?

Hi Everyone- 2019 190SPX 150OB

A few questions please:

PROP QUESTION : The prop is currently a 3 blade 14.5 x 19. WOT is around 6000 RPMs, which puts me at 36 MPH. I am trying for a better hole shot for skiing / tubing. I'm NOT a speed guy at all, and probably will never run at WOT again. That being said, I would gladly sacrifice Speed/RPM's for a better hole shot. Recommendations please?

FM RADIO RECEPTION : The boat has a Fusion Stereo which pulls in 1 FM Station (NPR, no less). I'm on a lake upstate New York (Lake George) which, with my $8 transistor pulls in many AM/FM stations. Do I need an antenna upgrade? I'm also a Sirius subscriber. Can I get Sirius Radio on the boat?

COURTESY LIGHT : Went for my first night ride last week and switched "Courtesy Light" hoping to get some cockpit light but got no response. Is the Courtesy light for cockpit light? Start with the fuse maybe?

IGNITION SWITCH : This constantly loosens in dash. I hand tighten the nylon nut behind the dash, but it eventually becomes loose. Add a washer? Swap out the switch?

------- I know SeaRay has a 5 year bow to stern warranty, but my dealer is 260 miles from where I keep the boat. I'm hoping to resolve these minor issues myself (light, radio, ignition switch)---------

Thanks Everyone !

my prop is whatever came with the 150 and at wot I’m at around 5500 and going ~46.5mph. Are you raising the trim as you plane out? I can pull two wakeboarders no problem.

courtesy light switch has things connected to it but not sure what. I am using the switch to power my underwater wake light.

yeah, my switch came completely loose first day. I tightened the hell out of it and it hasn’t come undone since. Guessing I’d use some sort of lock washer if it did come loose again.

Do you happen to know if that can be used with any brand trolling motor or is it pre-drilled for motorguide? If anyone would be willing to take a close up photo or two it would be greatly appreciated!!

If I recall, it doesn't matter. The wedge is simply there to adapt the deck of the boat to the trolling motor's mounting plate - to give a larger, flat surface to mount it. The wedge gets sandwiched between the plate and the deck and you thru-bolt everything together with (3) bolts. Talk to your local dealer about it.

We have the same boat - also a 2019.

The tach is wayyyyy off. I installed VesselView and now get accurate data off the computer. We also have a GPS, so my speeds are accurate data.

The original prop gave is 47 mph. I switched to a 19" Vengeance and we now get 50 mph. Our rpms top out at about 5800. Hole shot is awesome.

The courtesy light switch lights up the blue ambiance lighting in the cockpit. Check to see of you have that option.

I was looking at Bull's post above about a trolling motor and seem to recall someone cutting a fishing platform for their boat similar to these parts. Would they be willing to send a template? I would love to get something made up that could cast off of. I am thinking I may install a troller this winter too. While I am adding the extra battery I can install a sub and amp in the same compartment. Why don't they add a door to this compartment to begin with? Seems like a totaly waste of space sealed up like it is. Why not give us more storage??

I’ve got a 2020 SPX 190 stern drive and have the courtesy light switch, but apparently no lights installed in the cockpit. How could I add these? Does SR sell this as an add-on kit, or is there a better aftermarket solution?

The lights are blue fog strips and are integral to the upholstery. Ours has the upgrade select interior so they were standard. I don't see how they could be added later.

If you don't boat at night they serve no purpose anyway.
