Amazing......congrats on the sale!My Boat sold in 10 mins for asking price. I will add that I got double of what I paid for it last Memorial Day.
The cheapest part of boating is the cost of the boat.
Been looking myself for almost two years, and kick myself often for not buying pre covid and for selling pre covid. I refuse to pay these prices though so all I really do is look now.Great reading about everyone selling into this hot market, good for you guys. Lemme tell ya though being on the other side isn't fun. Im in the market for my first boat but just dont know if I can pay these prices. Really makes me wish I woulda just pulled the trigger 2 years ago when I was first looking. Got scared off b/c of pricing, now years later I'm still daydreaming about boats and buying 2 years ago mightve been one of the best investments of the decade
A boat that hits the market has already been passed up on. I have a dock neighbor that just bought a 48 Sundancer 2 weeks ago and sold his 44 Sundancer and both where never listed for sale. When I bought mine I had 3 sales guys in different states that I had a previous relationship with looking for a 390 and a 420... I looked at a few boats that the owner was considering selling for the right price but were not necessarily for sale.Been looking myself for almost two years, and kick myself often for not buying pre covid and for selling pre covid. I refuse to pay these prices though so all I really do is look now.
Be careful if you buy now, don't pass on a sea trial/survey and engine checks (compression for example). If it's been on the market for more than a weekly it's likely a pig, overpriced, or both.
Just remember, what goes up, must come down. I am pretty convinced that by years end, the covid boat bidding war will be over. $3.50 plus street gas and $5.00 plus marina gas will put a stop to the bandwagoneers. Add that everything is opening up at full capacity, even here in IL, and we'll eventually be back to normal.Been looking myself for almost two years, and kick myself often for not buying pre covid and for selling pre covid. I don't know. There are a lot of new boaters. And I have lost out on deals on bigger boats to new to boating types who buy without surveys, etc. There’s some logic in this, however the majority of buyers that I have seen have been seasoned boaters and really just want to upgrade. I honestly don’t think there will be a glut of used boats due to “COVID buyers”.
the majority of new buyers have been buying up the lesser expensive boats in my experience.
In theory yes. I bought this car as a 2nd car to tune it. I probably have over $2,500 in it with add-ons and tuning. Got it where I like it now.Let ‘em have it.
Pocket the money and be patient. When all of this reverses and prices plummet, go buy again at a discount.
Unless inflation spikes and then holding on to property would be a better idea.Let ‘em have it.
