Lake Michigan travelers

Brew ... How are you??good to hear from you this year , we don't have any 4th plans because we're tired of bad winds , and waves . But we'll be out there maybe Leland , but don't know ...
This year with rotator cuff surgery June 5th it's going to be wait see how much pain I'm involved in , can't imagine slamming waves in a sling .

Not sure of our plans yet. Need to secure a new boat first. Have friends who want to spend a week in Chicago middle of August. Not sure I am up for that, would like to head north.
 
We keep our boat at Charlevoix Municipal. Stop by and say hello when you guys are in port.
 
Good luck with the surgery Robert. I wish you a speedy recovery. We'll keep a look out for you as we make our way north. With a little luck I will get to meet both Jeff's in Charlevoix.
 
Going to depart Mac City sometime in the next month and head north to the Soo then meander east through the North Channel, Collins Inlet and Northern Georgian Bay (Bad River area) before I have to return and begin a tooth implant procedure in August...at least that's the plan. Still waiting for the damn midge flies to vacate northern Michigan so I can begin the boating season.

Yup, what looks like smoke, is a midge fly swarm.
 
Heading North today, first leg from Grand Haven to Portage Lake was a little buppy, 4-5 footers but the boat handled them great. Beautiful evening on the hook.

Portage Lake to Charleviox the lake was nice and flat today. Nice sunset over Round Lake.

Hey that's you anchored out off my portside! I'm the blue 500DB on the end of B dock. Sitting here right now looking out at you! I'm leaving in the morning for a few days of work - how long are you in port for?
 
Getting a slip today at the municipal marina leaving Thursday.

You guys are killing me , this ARM has got me lil grounded . Can't really take any slamming waves and wife want to go to Leland ,, I think I'm going to tighten the sling and let the Thundering Cathedrals of Torgue roar.

Nice meeting you and your family too, hope you enjoyed your stay in Grand Haven, would have liked to spend more time but I had to take a bunch of family for a ride on the lake. Burrrrr it was cold out there, thought I was in Norway.

Damn now she just told me the 25 year old has drivers training in August , so this summer Blows !!!! We are going to try for a 4 day weekend here next weekend hope the weather holds out .

We just made it back from our 2 week trip yesterday....off the grid pretty much. We hit Ludington and then Frankfort. My kids really wanted to go meet up with their cousins who were in Pentwater so we headed south and spent a few days in Pentwater, then cruised with them to Holland and Saugatuck. Lots of fog, even during nice days visibility was low. Charlevoix may have to wait until my kids aren't with us because they are only good for about 2 hrs of cruising before they get unruly. Overall a great vacation. Surprised I didn't bump into any of you guys.
