Lake Michigan travelers

Yep...staying put until at least Wednesday. Skipping Ludington now on the way up to Frankfort. Might do Michigans Adventure tomorrow with the kids.

Looks like you guys on the west side of MI are going to get pounded with storms real soon.

Too late they are here already and passed, wind was very strong as the front passed overhead and a 580SD and a 480 DA left as the storm was 5 miles out , don't know why HOD made idiots but he did.

Had a 40'ish Tiara pull into Charlevoix around 6PM today (Monday). They ran up from Pentwater. Said it wasn't too bad, 3-5 from the stern. Flattened out at Frankfort and had a great run from there through the Manitou Pass into Charlevoix. Said they pitty the fool that tries to run tomorrow (Tuesday). Good luck guys..... Enjoy that Badger dust :)

Don't think we will be moving I'm just kickin back and enjoying the time off , Brew crew is here in ludington too No use risking the family just to run to Frankfort , we had a 580 and 48 Da leave here as the storm hit last night , I just tilted my head .

We had to cancel our trip to South Haven, will shoot for Saugatuck Thursday :-(

Still in Ludington. Looks like things may improve tomorrow. There is a 50 dancer a few slips down from me and they are waiting until tomorrow to head north. Rescheduling slip arrangements is getting old. Ludington is beautiful.

Still in Ludington thinking of taking up wind surfing ...... Or getting out my parasail and throw myself off the Bridge ..... Looking at the lighthouse waves are ripping past and over the pier..... Maybe take another walk , I should be losing weight but freakishly I'm not . Thinking of writing a novel called Wind ,Waves and the anxious Mind . Be about 3 pages long ...... Still waiting!!!!!!!

When I look at the forecast from your area and north if I had your boat I'd run with those following seas. When I look at the flag at that marina I'm not sure I would.

Boltman, do you look direct at the bouy and station data? Sometimes it can give you a good/better idea of what's going on than the models/forecast generated by the assembled data. Here's the bouy right outside Ludington, when I look back at yesterdays wave height and period I can see why those two boaters felt OK to go. Some times you get out away from shore and you can find easier running. I'm not questioning your methods. I'm just throwing the raw/bouy station data out there if you didn't know or use it. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45024

Normally I look at bout information before we head out but sitting in ludington you can see the conditions clearly and there isn't a 2.3 foot wave out there right now, the PM river had 1-2 footers last night and this morning . I just don't need to hit 4' waves when all we're doing is vacationing and this boat can handle them fine but my bones said No not happening

Last I looked, I see you're still at Harborview. You must be at "seasonal" status by now. Hopefully, you get off the wall before the locals take over the park on the 4th and launch their fireworks around and at your boat. That would be a little tense for me. I had an unexploded rocket hit my dock box there 2 years ago and after a discussion with the police chief the following day, could tell there was little they thought they could do to contain that activity.

I know of these problems , we are put of here in three hours as soon as I have my coffee and shower I'm firing her up and gone back to Whitehall ..... After 4 days upon this vessel with nothing to do except the wife and she's a little stir crasy as well we're taking our ball and going back to home port.
