Lake Lanier thread

Pat,

Just wanted to say hi. What kind of SeaRay are you running? What part of the lake are you on? I've trailered my 240SD down a couple times. Last time the wife was not real happy with the trip. The lower end is covered up. Went down for the MM Custer Apr. day at LL Island and on the way back up we almost got run over by a couple of fast boat throwing 20+ feet roster tails :smt013
Not sure if you trailer yours or not but we are doing a TN River run next weekend 10/13-15/06.

It's not realy trailerbale. Lanier shouldn't be that intimidating. I try to avoid weekends between the holidays. I'm sliped at Aqualand for now. After the lake comes back up I'll move back to Sunrise Cove.

Looks good, I know there was more SROer that slipped on the lake. Can not rember them all. I'm triing to get up with one of them that asked about the TN River fall trip just be SRO went down. I think they had a 240 or 260 that they slipped at Bald Ridge, if I rember it was a female that did most of the message on SRO (Must be getting old, can see their boat but can't rember the name :smt017 )

On the last TN trip we had a 48DA that was trailered from Lanier just for the 4 day trip on the river.

Lake Lanier

Pat , We bought a 89' 340 DA about three years ago, she was at sunrise marina, needed bottom paint, stuffing box work, and some teak work. Nothing like what you have in front of you! Never Monday looks the same ( exterior) as our Cindy Lynn ll, we're at Bald Ridge, We boat year round and are over on your side sometimes , Up the Creek, Dock Holiday's, etc Look forward to your re-hab on Never Monday! John and Cindy Lynn

John,
Glad to meet you. Keep an eye on the thread and see how things progress. This winter will be slow, not alot of interesting stuff. I'm planing on the floors and cabin apointments as $$$ allows.

Not sure if you guys caught this, but Up The Creek closed for good this month... I was really disappointed to hear that becuase it was our favorite resturant on the lake. Although as I mentioned in another post, the lake levels may have "locked" me into my slip. I have to go out again with an inflatable to verify the depth in front of my slip so it may not matter much for awhile if I can't get my boat out of the slip.

Where was up the creek at? We did lunch at Holiday this past spring.

When you say moving their sales operation to Holidays are you talking sales of boat? Are they going to be replacing the one that is already there. I think it was called "JOA" If so I wish them all the luck, not sure if I would every deal with JOA again. Had a very bad experience with them once when I was looking at brokerage boats.

man we liked "up the creek"

Hate to see it closed.
When we were looking for property a couple of years ago, we looked at Lanier. Now, I'm glad we didnt buy there!!!!! It was a awesome lake (during the week) but now, it's a sad site. Hartwell rocks!!!!!

Does anybody know if you can still make it under the bridge going out to lake Lanier Islands. I plan on doing the MM Poker run this Saturday on Lanier and was not sure if there was still water under it with the way the lake has been going down.

It was pretty low last time we were out there, people were stirring up mud!

We will not have to go under it, and I don't think you do either, unless you just want to!!

I picked up the registration package yesterday! Looks like we will burn some gas!

Hope to see you there!

The other day the level was 1061 and change. I think you might hava foot or two. I'll call a maintainance guy I know at the islands and ask him tommorow

Thanks - I was afraid it was going to be too low for us I start to get that pucker factor around 5 feet of water

Jan my thought was since I will be coming down the lake and the Big creek stop after the aqualand stop thought I would go under it and come around the south side of lake lanier islands on my way to Bald Ridge since I will be running back up the main channell at the end of the day. So much for plan A.

We will have to get more of the local SeaRayer on this site.

Just hung up with my buddy at the islands. He thinks thier is a chanel available that's about 15' wide and less than 5' deep. Also, were predicted to go down another 4ft over the winter.

Thanks for the quick info. May pull in real slow just to check it out, but does not sound promising. With a 40+" draft, I start to get that funny feeling anytime my depth gauge hits the 5' mark :smt017

I don't think we will go through! :smt009

We are going out today after work and will swing on the hook tonight! Get up and make the poker rounds in the morning and see you at the low country boil!
