Lake Lanier thread

Oh Me, Looks like we missed each other again. Asked Cynthia if you had made it in yet and she said you had just asked her if we had made it but she could not find us. Sorry we missed you all. Maybe next time. We are going to have to find some way to show our CSR colors. Those CSR shirts or maybe a CSR flag would be good  Had a great time. Good friends, boating and great food, what more could you ask for. Way to go MM :smt038

Once again, we missed each other!!! I asked Cynthia where you were and she did not see you right then! I saw the Ms. Judy at the dock! I turned in our cards and then went back to park our boat at the slip and ended up staying at the dock for awhile. The Oh ME!! had a 4,5,6,7,and then a KING~!! Oh well! We had a great time anyway! What hand won and what did they win?

We'll try again at the next MM function!

Yes I asked for you not long after you talked with Cynthia and she could not find you. Judy and I were sitting at the end of the table just outside of the pavillon so Cynthia could not see us due to the pavillon side wall. As soon as we eat and they had the drawing we headed back up the lake ASAP. Made it all the way before the rain hit. Had a couple drops just as we finished putting the top on. It rained all the way home 1 1/2 hours back to the mountains. As soon as we got back to Hiawassee it stopped so went ahead and put the boat back in its slip. Some times things just work out great.

As to the poker hands, we had a pair of 7s and did not win any thing. 1st place was taken with 3 jack-Won a complete winterising or equivocal part or service from MM. Second place I think was a pair of Queens-Won a Xtreme bilge heater. Third place was a pair of 10s-Won the his and her jackets/vest. Also had winner for the worst hand can't remember what it was, but won 2 dinner gift cert for some local restaurant.

Are you doing the Christmas trip to Lake Lanier Island lights? Sounded interesting, but don't think I'll trailer the boat down for it. Have to check with Cynthia about it, since we wont have a boat for the trip over to the Island.

Separate issue. Do you know anybody looking for a lake place in the mountains on Lake Chatuge. I've got a deal on a place right now. If you know anybody drop me an email and I'll get the info to you.

We went back out at about 3:30 and got in some rain. It was pretty nice on the lake in the morning. Little cold and windy, but not bad! We did have to run by all the sail boats out in front of Sunrise COve. I bet they wondered what all the Sea Rays were doing out on a cloudy day on that side of the lake!!!

Send me some info on the property on Lake Chatuge! I really want a lot on (or with access) to the TN river!!! scottjan@bellsouth.net.

I have not heard anything on the Christmas trip! I will see the whens and wheres!

Yes we had to run through them all must have been having some kind of race must have been 30 or so. Pretty neat to see them all with full sails up

I've dropped you a email with info on the lot, here is the link for it also.

I've done some looking on the TN River. It's about a 2 hour trailer haul for us, do it as often as we can. Prices have shoot up and hard to find something unrestricted that is dock-able per TVA. We wanted a place we could take our RV up to and leave it.

:smt015 OK People! It's May and the lake is 2.5' below pool. Lanier Islands bridge is fine and so is 6 mile creek access to main channel. Anybody doing any trolling/fishing on the pond? Caught largemouth trolling around marker C1 3 weeks ago! Yes,that is unusual but what a surprise when you pull in a 3 pounder! Comments welcome. Keep Lanier alive!

Thought I was going to be on LL in a couple weeks. May the 20th for the MM customer apr. day. Just found out that is is going to be in June this year. Glad your only down a couple feet. We are 6+ feet down on Lake Chatuge :smt021 Would say you are getting our water, but ours flows north

Hey LanMar! let's get some people talking from Port Royale, formerly LanMar. I'm at 3-30 260 Dancer, "Mutual Fun Too". Great marina, great management. What do you think about all the changes? Restaurant is in the future etc. If you haven't met Benny Bishop(Marina Mgr.) yet, ask to see him next time you're up. He's the greatest! Will take care of your every need. Plays golf too! Anyways, Happy Birthday. I'll be up Thursday and Sunday. Call if you have VHF or see ya around the docks.

Had the best day on the lake ever.
We are on B Dock up the creek out side the marina.
Love it since it is so private. Bennie is great, Port Royale is going to be teriffic. They are planning on some building lots in the fuure too.

Got to keep this thread going. I know there are a lot of Port Royale Marina members out there. There is a lot of money being spent here, let's make sure it's in the right place. I'm all for expanding the Marina, but let's make sure current members are take'n care of. We pay the bills. Alot of the covered spaces have "drippage issues" from above. Beams are rusting causing stains on my investment. They are not easy to remove and require "agressive" treatments. Port Royale's answer is "put this tarp over your boat, we can't afford to do anything else!"

Seems like we might have some water in the lake after all. Would anyone be interested in having a CSR get together on Lanier? I am at Holiday marina and would love to meet some fellow Sea Ray owners this spring.

Dan

Dan, I've recently purchased (pending a clean survey) a boat located at Holiday Marina and would be interested in meeting other CSR members on Lanier as well. Should we try to organize something?

I dont dock at lanier but I was there this past Saturday night on my (new to me ) boat. I hope to go back out this weekend.. for the holiday maybe do some camping.

How low is the lake? My wife and I take our boat from Florida to Lanier every summer for a week and from what I keep reading it sounds bad. Is it safe? Should we stay away or is the party at cocktale cove going on as always?

I have been out 5 times in 2 weeks.. Having a blast on Lanier. Lake is really low, However if you are careful should not have any problems. I went to coctail cove every time I went and it was a rockin. Some passages under bridges and connecting coves are impassible. but over all I loved it.:smt038

I am sorry I haven't responded, for some reason I did not get subscribed to this thread when I posted.

Guys, I would love to meet any other CSR members and if you would like to raft up, great. We usually have five to six boats of different makes each weekend, some new Sea Rays and some older (but pampered) models. We're on Dock 2 at Holiday so if you are in the area stop by, or send a message and we can plan a place to meet on the water.

As FYI, Lake Lanier Islands has opened a Tiki Bar at their harbor serving drinks and grub and have 12 slips set aside for patrons.

Dan

Is that tik bar called something frogs. I think I saw the docks last year with a sign on it. We just booked a camp ground for the 4th of July weekend.
