LOL, how's this for indecision, the boss man just walked in the office and in discust told me to take the weekend off. lol. He said management can't seem to make a solid decision on the need to work over the holiday weekend. Budget, is winning over business need! Just wait though, there will be another decision tommorrow. See this is what I have to go through. LOL. Just thought I'd let ya'll into nuclear decision making.
So...I'm on for the trip.lol........for now!

Looks like we are a no go...just is not going to work for us this year. We will make it next year. :thumbsup:

I was really hopeing to meet our "LOCAL"moderator, I feel very fortunate, not to have had any posts deleted.
I think the thoughts of all those boats that have been exposed to SALT water has scared Wesley away.:smt089
The mean "BULLY" boat HB won't be there, so it should be safe, if things change, come on and join in.:smt001
 
We are still up in the air. I may need to meet a client that weekend about starting a house. With this crappy economy, I can't turn this one down, even if its on Labor Day weekend.

Brain, come on if you can. I understand about having to meet clients. I had to miss the Allatoona raftup last weekend because I had to show. Really is a downer when work gets in the way of boating:smt089 Hope your meeting works out better than my showing.:thumbsup:

Wesley you have been ducking me for a couple of years now. I finally thought I was going to get the chance to meet you. Now I will have to wait again.

Helllllo everyone! Yes, I am alive! Sorry for the delay - I have been absolutely covered up with work. Best news of all - I leave in the morning for Pawley's Island. I CAN'T WAIT.

After we get settled at the beach tomorrow - I plan to login and create a detailed and thorough post with the details for Labor Day.

I've spent time planning with Gary (Ringy Dinghy)... have sought input from other friends that will be joining us - and of course, the admiral. I'm very excited. Remember: I don't return from the beach until Sat 9/5. I believe some of you are making a day/night of Jocassee. We'll all be together on Keowee Sunday/Sunday night/Monday!!

Stay tuned - I'll post details tomorrow evening.

From what I'm seeing Raftup on Jocasee on Saturday, Raftup on Keowee Sunday. Now where was that music on Sunday. (Grin)

Looks like I won't have to meet my client till Tuesday. We are looking at Sunday for Keowee raft up. We had so much fun on Keowee last year, we want to go back. The water is warmer too, Jocasee is coooold.....brrr

Did I mention my Spartans start there season at noon on Saturday, reason we won't be there on that day.

Ryan, let us know if the raft up is at the same location as last year. You could not have picked a better place.

My grandmother is not going to make it and we will be dealing with that most likely. I will mail my Jocassee map to Nicky so everyone can find the falls. If things change or move slower or faster where we can be there, we will...with bells on!

Hello everyone. 'Broadcasting' from the beautiful Pawley's Island with adult beverage in hand <Grin>

So here goes... Let me recap 'roll call'.... This is based on private messages that I have gotten and/or details I've picked up from reading this thread. I apologize; in advance, as (a) I'm terrible with names and (b) I don't remeber everyone's name behind their CSR screen name.

I have quite a list of other SR owner's that will be joining us (Potentially another 8 or 9 add'l boats!) - they are already on Keowee and keep their boats at the marina.

Our thoughts for this year:

As I said early in this post - our spot last year ("Buddy's Island") is out this year. There will be house boats at Buddy's Island with a band and such. Since quite a few of you went north last year to view the water falls, we've decided it would be fun to cruise north and take the entire 'flotilla'.

For those that want to visit the water falls; we will pass the cove to the falls - in route to the north end. Everyone can view the mountains; the jumping rocks; and of course the incredible Vinyards golf course.

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous - the thought is for everyone that wants to spend the night 'on the hook' - we will remain on the north end for the night. There are several coves up there with beaches and deep waters.... we'll pick those most likely on Sunday when we arrive 'up there'.

I'm thinking we leave Keowee Marina in shifts. I can lead the first group; Gary & Lynn have offered to lead another. If need be; I'm certain that I can scout another 'leader' for a 3rd group.

SO... I have several questions:
1: What are your thoughts?
2: What time(s) are we going to agree to meet outside the marina?
3: If I have left your name off the list above; please let me know. If I have your name(s) incorrect or incomplete; please let me know that as well.

I'll send out my contact information as we approach next weekend.

We will be on Keowee Sunday for sure with choclate cake. That should get Nickeys attention.

We are up in the air abourt Jocassee on Saturday. With the football traffic that might be a pain to navigate.
 
Ryan - Sounds good to me. Our condo is about halfway up the lake near War Path Access area. So we will try and catch one of the groups going north. What time do you think you're going to be running north. Anybody else going to be in the War Path area?

Paul - I like cake too.

Nicky - You got our route laid out for Saturday yet?
