Irene... stay the hell away!

Manly part of the Chesapeake Bay

The eye is closing on us now. Overall conditions aren't to bad though. Of course we are without power & the noise box is keeping us on back up power. Seems like Isabel had a little more punch. If we can hold out a few more hours we'll be good. Who knows with any luck we could be boating tommorow.

Well I finally got pulled today and now high and dry...hopefully high enough. Thursday made the call but had about 80 boats in front of me on the list. So glad I made the final cut. Lets hope everyone has a happy ending!

Wind about 30knots on Cape....No rain yet.......Two sailboats off moorings and on rocks....Insurance pays for stupidity I guess

I just went and checked on our boat. It weathered the storm well. Our bridge enclosure was no worse for the wear, and the windshield cover is still there too. We have it on a fixed dock, and get this, our neighbors in the boat behind us spent the night last night on their boat. They said the "12" lines that I had used did a great job and held well. They also said when they looked out their back window, that it looked really strange to see the swim platform on my boat 3 feet above the deck of the pier. Of course their's was too.

He also said there was (and still is) too much debris in the water to run the generator, his strainer clogs up very quickly. We are hoping to get our shore power back by this afternoon. As Gary said, they turned off the shore power early yesterday, well before the storms arrival. The water is down now, but there is no power in the neighborhood yet.

The bottom floor of the clubhouse suffered major flooding damage.

Glad you guys made it through unscathed. All the rest of the boats at your club OK?

It was some eventfull night at the marina. Luckily we didn't loose power. It felt like some boats will take off by snapping the lines, but for the most part we didn't have a lot of damage to report, so I hope it stays that way. On another positive note all my prep work served well. I was concerned about my cockpit cover, but since it has shock-cords it held up fine. The bridge cover did a fantastic job.

Glad to hear boat and you were fine... Our neighbors informed us that all was well with our home and boats, so far... Looking forward to getting out to High Bar later this week...

From what I hear from neighbors, flooding on the Bay is on the high side of what we have seen from other bad Nor'Easters and tropical storms. Winds shifted to the West around 7am, and Water is receding with the low tide. Hopefully, the next high tide will be lower than the last high tide.

Went to check on the boat just after the storm mostly passed. Everyone was looking at me funny when I was washing and waxing the hull.

My marina had a list of 60 boats to pull today and they said they probably wouldnt hit that number, we took the canvas down, put the mooring cover on deflated the dink tucked everything in the cockpit , added lines and fenders, disconnected shore power and said our prayers.

Joe, i forget to disconnect shore power....everything else looks ok

Well most of the boats at Morgan Marina including mine made it out ok. A sailboat that was moored broke lose and is problay in the Bay now. The current running out of my inlet was unbelievable yesterday. My mooring cover kept everything nice and dry.
