Mrs Robinson is in Deltaville now . It's our plan to explore the middle and maybe upper Bay this spring/summer.

Anyone interested is some sort of CSR gathering, say April or May 2009? I do not know the area well enough to pick a spot. I am thinking somewhere around the mouth of the Potomac.

Put out a scheule and location and some of us will know more specifically where & when but it's probably a little early yet. Till the Holidays are done and the economic direction is a little clearer not to many peolpe will committ.

Greg, that's pretty early in the year, and as mentioned previously, there's still holidays and the economy to overcome prior to planning anything. But, as far as a location, Port Kinsale gets my vote.

"Port Kinsale gets my vote."

Good deal.

Lets turns this into a "who is interested" and "where is a good central spot" post versus "when". That was actually my intent with the "Ideas/Suggestions? comment.

I gather that would be a good central loction for many area boaters both VA and MD. I'm game and just aroudn the corner up the Rappahannock.

We would be interested. Most of the marinas that I am aware of along the Potomac are very rural compared to the big BIH gathering.

How about Colonial Beach? The Colonial Beach Yacht Center is a great location. New docks, great restaurant/bar, and a great location.....

I was thinking about that location too. Been there once by car and once by boat. Not much of a cruise for you though.

But look at what save in gas!! I like Kinsale to. Coles Point is nice. Our last Yacht Club cruise of the year was to Coles Point. We were in Kinsale one week before all you guys were there (saw the pics and the write-up from some of the members here.)

What about Solomon's Island? Don't really want to go up the river. Did that for about four years and am over it. Regardless, I'm only in if we get some snazzy t-shirts commemorating the occasion.

Sounds good to me. That is one of the places the Mrs and I want to visit this year by boat.

I am thinking mid April...how does that work with everyone's schedule?

How about the weekend after tax day?

My favorite marina in Solomon's is Solomon's Yacht Center. Spring Cove and Zanheiser's are both very nice, but SYC has floating docks and it's practically downtown.

Being new to CSR...Solomon's is in our backyard. Zanheiser is nice with a great restaurant called the Dry Dock that over looks the marina and Fred makes one hell of a Dark & Stormy drink. We would plan to join as well. We would like to meet those of you that are local and it would be interested to talk about what other spots up and down the bay y'all find nice and during what part of the season.

The weekend after tax day is usually "Tiki Bar Opening" in Solomons. Docking space is difficult to find, and AT LEAST DOUBLE the norm.......think $4 - $5 per ft. Make reservations VERY early!

I've been the last 3 years and had a blast, but if being around a couple thousand transient drunks is not your idea of fun, I would consider another weekend.

On the bright side, what great motivation for getting the boat ready for the season.

I am OK with Tiki Bar Opening if everyone else is.

So lets pick a weekend, April 18th or 25th...cast your vote. Then we can pick the marina.

We would be good for either weekend, but first vote would be 4/25...have a 3 year old, but could arrange a baby sitter for him at night.
