I Voted Democrat Because :

Trust me, nobody is following TK in my home. We are the quiet resistance. Problem is you can't ever make a difference in this state. It has and alway will be Blue. Very few of my customers have that mindset. Cambridge, MA are you kidding me? This is another country. I know, it is hard to understand unless you have lived here. I'm in medical practice and the rule is not to talk sex, politics, or religion. My patients have no problem expressing their views. I just smile and keep working. Remember what happened to the people who spoke out against the Nazis in Germany?

I struggle with this characterization of MA politics. I was born in MA and lived there my whole life. Well, my primary residence anyway. My roots go back generations to the Mayflower right there in MA.

9 out of 10 people I meet in MA are all fed up with the Democratic rule in that state. Where are these people on voting day I say? We get an 80% democratic vote every time, except for the Governors race, which ping pongs back and forth from Republican to Democratic.

I have no qualms about voicing my political beliefs in MA. I never felt like it got in the way of me, my family or my business. Maybe it's just a "city thing" where there are too many on the dole. I can't wait for the Kennedy reign to end. That's our time for change in MA.

You could put a ham sandwich on the ballot in MA and it would win if it had "Democrat" under its picture.

ski bum is right. that's why we have to stop this 2 party crap. i have arlen spector...eeeeccchhhh. he switched cause he knows he can't win as a republican. between him, kennedy , and byrd, that's what a hundred years in the senate? enough already vote 'em all out!

don't blame me, i voted for palin. at least she can fish!

Actually, the two party system is a good idea. Goes back to the Founding Fathers. Look at countries with multi-party systems. That's much worse both in theory and in practice.

first off, where at in n.j.?( i spend waaaay too much time there. I drive a tanker, and am there all the time)

2nd. they were a good idea. now they have both become so far out of control, that a wake up call may be the only way to shake them back to reality.

remember the debacle of the 90's? H. Ross Perot? sure he was off his rocker, but ya know what? he made the d's and r's take a step back.

the g.o.p sends us john mccain? for real? seriously?

obama/biden?? say huh? obama has managed one thing. He found a bigger dunce for v.p. than dan quayle.

to many americans are standing in the middle asking "hi...what about us?"
it's our power. we loan it to them. tell your incumbent."no more loan for you" fire them:smt013
we trusted them with social security. our future. Our kid's future. No More bush, clinton, kennedy, all of them need to go bye bye.

OK, I'll step up ...

I voted D because I didn't want another fiasco in the tradition of Nixon, Regan, Bush Sr. or Bush Jr. ... Because I'm not a hater ... and because I don't let Rush Limbaugh influence my decisions.

That being said ... Gov. Patrick is a huge disappointment ... he doesn't have a clue.

Maybe if we had more than 2 parties, or at least independent thinkers, they would fight so much that nothing would get done... And that would be an improvement... Look at New Hampshire, nothing much changes there and everyone from MA wants to move to NH... We have too many of our politicians thinking that redistribution of wealth is good for all.. People need real jobs, not hand outs... High taxes and government hand outs don't help anyone... We need more people to have the money to buy boats that are made in the USA...

I live up northern NJ. Boat is down near Pt. Pleasant. @#$@ taxes and the state employees are going to kill jersey.

I remember Perot. I don't think he was as far off his nut as the media portrays him. Probably they were very afraid of his type of no-nonsense politics. The media killed him and the professional politicians went back to business as usual. McCain wasn't just a mistake. He was a major failure of the political system as is Osama. Biden? He wasn't called the dumbest man in the senate for nothing.

The main problem is that people don't want to bother to think. They don't know Keynesian economics, or that it always fails. They don't know what M1 or M2 is and why radically increasing M1 is a very bad thing. Not only don't they know, but they don't care and they won't listen to anyone who tries to explain it because, "You're just a hater." Really. That's the kind of stupidity that runs rampant in the electorate.

OK, I'll step up ...

See what I mean? No thought what so ever. A coin toss couldn't be a less informed decision making process.

Best regards,
Frank

I don't agree with everything Rush says, and he has endured some personal failures, however even though Limbaugh is not the standard bearer for the conservative movement in America although he does provide a much needed voice. Recent polls said that 75% of Americans prefer less government, lower taxes, and reduced services to more government, higher taxes and more services...despite that trend, we are voting against all of these things.

Most people are unconvinced that government can provide an effective solution to problems, many like the idea of personal gun ownership, most despise entitlements, and most like our own medical choices (and many many other premises). Voicing those concerns doesn't make Rush, or anyone else, a "hater". I find it interesting that so many people who champion Ward Churchill's right to force his opinions on students (not saying you do, but just an oddity) do not think Limbaugh, Coulter and Hannity should be allowed to distribute theirs.

wow, have we opened a can of worms! (good catfish bait, may i add)

point pleasant is a neat town! i went through it today on the way to brick. Those slip fees must hurt! one of our drivers has a house there and kept his boat there( downsizing...working on his new one now).

Rush, Glenn and Sean don't always speak for me. i like to think for myself. If the right man or woman has a d, r, or i behind their last name, i don't care (joe lieberman comes to mind). i voted for ross perot...twice! as far as crazy, i was referring more to his manner of speech, than his viewpoints. I could believe him when his lips were moving. He wasn't part of the machine that is washington.

as for keynes theory, no, of course half of the world doesn't get it! we've become far to concerned with michael jackson's funeral, paris hilton's latest exploit, and who's going to win american idol. washingtonites are far too concerned with naming buildings, and the latest photo op.

coming from pa, i've watched the steel industry cry up, and blow away to china. what we need is to make things. we have precious little manufacturing in america anymore. cap and trade will destroy what we have left. we need to sopt seeing one another as "d" or "r". see me as an american. that's what i am

That is because we aren't allowed to burn ANYTHING here. Industry requires power and resources. The leftists have been intentionally impeding our ability to have or to use either.

They want us back in the stone age. Its cleaner.

And I just love how the Rush Limbaugh haters like Charlie think that Rush Limbaugh "directs" people's thoughts, decisions, and actions. Let me spoil their fun right here and now. Most of us tune him in because it is nice to hear at least a few voices in the media that will actually say what some of us actually think, and believe. I don't always agree with his opinions, BUT more often than not, I do. Have I scared the hell out of you yet, Charlie?

Oh... and he IS just an entertainer. You guys give him way too much credit by assuming that he "controls" anything. When the power switch on the radio is off, his "influence" ends.

Honestly, I never listened to a Rush Limbaugh show until a few months ago... I discovered AM talk radio this year... I never new that was even out there. I usually crank up some tunes and sing and the top of my lungs when I drive around.

I find Rush is whacked at times but overall he's pretty funny and informative. He just says it like it is... so what? I agree with a lot of his talking from what I've heard... He even said jg300da and promocop were dorks.... really...

He has a G5 jet... cool...

don't forget 8 "republicans" (3 from jersey) supported this tripe in congress. Did they read it? no. call one, and ask why they didn't read it.

they all need to be for us, or gone.

if reagan or jfk were alive, they'd want our government drug tested.

they all suck.

Politicians all suck ... I can agree with that.

That being said ...

1928 - 1933 ... Herbert Hoover and a republican majority controlled the government ...

2001 - 2009 ... G W Bush and a republican majority controlled the government ...

hmmmmm

"Those who don't learn from history ..."

Geez... and here I thought Barney Frank was unique... Are you one of his lovers or one of his advisers?

This really is worthy of discussion, but I'm thinking that if you don't know the spelling of the president's name, you probably haven't got a complete grasp on the fundamental nature of his policies or their effects...but I could be wrong. Nixon, Bush and Bush were really not my favorites either but I don't think at their worst, that they presided over messes like we have now. And, to the credit of Bush2, one of your posts is simply wrong. The last three years of his administration were actually controlled by a locked Democratically controlled House and Senate...including some incredibly important decisions which assisted in creating the house of cards we are now paying for.

In any event, if you look in the political dictionary, under "Fiasco" there is a picture of my former Governor Jimmy Carter, fighting off bunny rabbits with lust in his heart and Lyndon Johnson's Great Society was paid for by opening the Social Security lock box so that he could maintain the war in Viet Nam while creating huge new social programs.
