Having trouble understanding current events

So to recap, HRC, an employee, broke the laws pertaining to classified material handling and was not even given a hand slap but Trump, a President is raided. In what parallel universe is this?
Welcome to Biden's America...

Mike, what you said about declassifying documents but it's my understanding that power granted to a president only applies when he is the president. Not after he leaves the office.

Correct and I believe the documents they are referring to were declassified during his time as CIC. I heard 45 had a standing order that any documents that were taken to the White House Residence were declassified...but those individuals who had to declassify them thought they new better than the CIC and did not follow through on his orders...

GFC - read the link I posted in #1012 and a ‘federal court ruling’ in regards to their decision about classified information and former presidents.

It is my understanding, this politically motivated information gathering by the FBI and DOJ was to obtain materials Trump had in regards to the 3.5 years of the Russia hoax.

If Nuclear information was missing, and the DOJ knew about it, why did it take 1.5years for a request? Weren’t the FBI there this Spring? I hope Trump releases his security tapes. This is a travesty of epic proportions.

Ironically the justice department argued completely differently when judicial watch was trying to get documents from Bill Clinton. The federal judge in that case ruled that presidents have unequivocal authority to declassified documents. They can literally wave their hand over them and say they are declassified. Neither Congress or the courts have power to regulate the president on this. They are called coequal branches and not one of them has power over the other.

If the former president said he declassified the documents that satisfies the court ruling. Now if he went and obtained classified documents from this in administration that would be different.

I don't think your link says what you think it says. Read the court opinion. The Judicial Watch case was about a former president's ability to "classify" records of his administration as personal, which exempts them from the PRA. It had nothing to do with "classified materials" subject to the Espionage Act.

It's also true that SECSTATE is an Original Classification Authority (OCA). The president's powers regarding classification are formally delegated to a small handful of OCAs in the area under their purview and they can theoretically classify and declassify at will just like the president. But, only for while they are in the job, also like the president.
Hmm.. so now it’s espionage - So 1.5 years and then a raid for said espionage? The DOJ is worse than I thought.

I read it, no different especially seeing as it’s being slowly leaked that these where ‘Russia Gate’ records and not nuke codes…. This is unprecedented for any president.

The search warrant the FBI enforced sought two types of records: classified materials and records created during the Trump presidency. Trump has been adamant the records he took to Mar-a-Lago were both declassified and deemed personal by him.

Some government lawyers reached out privately to Just the News in recent days questioning the use of the FBI to collect presidential records, citing Jackson's ruling and suggesting it was a civil and not criminal matter where deference to Trump is required by law.

On the classification issue, both Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama signed executive orders — which remain in force to this day — declaring that presidents have sweeping authority to declassify secrets and do not have to follow the mandatory declassification procedures all other government officials do.”

You obviously missed footnote #3: "except Trump."

And if a borrower is the responsible type and is managing their student loan debt, and did a private consolidation loan, generally only available to those that are actually making money, they DO NOT GET DEBT RELIEF. The majority this will affect are STEM grads.

Humanities grads, that work at Starbucks, bailouts are unaffected…

They aren't worried about how much they spend, there is a plan. It involves your bank account and the IRS that will be adding 87,000 positions over the next 10yrs.

Remember last fall when they tested the waters wanting access to individual accounts?

This, the EV propaganda, Climate Change, monetary policy, ESG, immigration, the whole governmental policy is globalization driven.

The destruction of American sovereignty is up for grabs. Luckily, the new Congress can defund it and lawsuits will prevent this tuition payout. I hope.
