Guns on your boat

aerobatt77 I don't carry but here in the states a gun is never used for show there for if you go for your gun you better plan on using it.And you might be surprised to know this but there are laws about brandishing a fire arm .If you have a conceal and carry it better stay concealed until you plan on using it.

Yep. Just shows how disconnected non gun owners and two Australians are with regards to firearms. It's a felony to point a firearm at someone so you're only going to draw if the need arises. Of course the left imagines hopes and dreams that people are walking around aimlessly pointing guns at each other so.they can craft up even more rules to try to take them away. This, of course, is simply not the case. Furthermore criminals who aquire firearms illegally don't follow any rules at all. The rules (as always) only apply to law abiding citizens.

She's a good shot. I wouldn't mess with her.

When you guys going to start talking about the bug out bags, zombies, and WTSHTF?

Its so close to boating season. Please don't let this lead to pigs and generators. Please!!!!

It's unfortunate the discussion of' right to bear arms' legally gets gets distorted by the misconception that everyone is shooting at everyone when the discussions should really be about solving the problem of a massive amount of illegal weapons in the hands of people who should not have them and how to get control of that epidemic.
But this thread is about guns on your boat. I could see it being useful in some parts of the world and not in others. Fortunately I am in one of the latter parts.

It's my Constitution right as a american and I have the right to twist it around so it works in my behalf it's the american way and if you use a bilge heater your wrong. It's not the dingos fault they eat the chickens its the farmers fault he let them.Chickens are tasty.

What do you mean by that? We have some very helpful contributors on this board from New Zealand. Are you implying they have sex with sheep? That doesn't strengthen your argument.
I am sure that was meant tongue in cheek, but just to be clear sheep dogs PROTECT the sheep. There is danger here of degenerating into generators on swim platforms, or preparing prepp'er arguments. Here is the deal, I think everybody should do what they think they need to do, to feel safe and protect their family. As long as whatever that is does not infringe on my rights to 'Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness'. I do not care if my neighbor wants a Tank with a Howitser as long as he is not blocking my driveway or pointing it at my dogs. If you feel strong language and a plastic light sabor are all you need, rock on with your bad self. Maybe ignorance is bliss. Maybe we live in different worlds. I know this, I am not comming after you for what you have, and I am no threat to your family, or your sheep. Also you are not coming after what I have, and you are no threat to my family, or my sheep(if I ever have any).

I might consider carrying a gun but my hips already have aches and pains. My guns are real guns made out of metal and wood...they're heavy ;)

Oops! Double Post somehow!

Well said.

And yes it was tongue in cheek. It's a standing joke between us and them, as they have more sheep than people, and most of their people live here now. Another standing joke we have with them is "would the last person to leave NZ please turn out the light"

And yes ignorance is bliss.

Pulling a gun by you might trigger a situation where you really risk the life of your wife and your children. You assume you are the only one who is armed and you will stabilize the situation on your side , but the reality might be different.

When you run into a scenario where using a gun might become an option , you most probably deal with more than some teenies looking for trouble. Grabbing now for a gun might result in the outcome they do the same but are quicker and you pay with your life where the initial idea of the bad guys was only to take your money.

I,m not sure if you and your family are more safe if you have in mind to resolve an assault with your firearm.

Wow, you're really talking outside of your knowledge base. It sounds like you are trying to figure things out. I really can't help you.

Hmmmmm.

Sydney, March 7 (IANS) A man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting incident at an industrial site in Sydney, police said on Monday.
The police had surrounded the attacked industry with an armed gunman still inside, Xinhua news agency reported.
A person was arrested in relation with the incident, said police commander Mark Brett.
"The deceased is 43 years old. Two men with gunshot wounds have been transferred to Liverpool Hospital," Brett said.
"One is undergoing emergency surgery, the other has superficial wounds to the lower part of his body," he added.
The police did not say whether the gunman had any hostages.
"It's at a delicate stage. I really can't give you any more information," Brett said.
Emergency services were called to the site around 10.45 a.m. (local time) on Monday.
Five gun shots were heard in the area, according to nearby people. An employee at a nearby business said one person was dead.
"Police told us not to go near windows," the employee said.
Australians are still on alert since a lone gunman took 17 hostages at a cafe in Sydney in December 2014.
Two hostages were killed along with the gunman during the 16-hour stand-off.

If everybody had have been armed there is no way that could have happened
