Great Lakes Launch Dates?

We had originally requested that our boat to be taken out of storage and put on a rack 4/16 to clean/wax with a launch date of 4/18. As you know, the damage at McKinley will probably take a while to repair...therefore we changed our launch date to 5/2

Unless we sell our 280 Sundancer in the meantime (it is for sale until 5/9) we will then be looking for a 300DA to fill our slip.

I might be going in the water tomorrow, if not then sometime next week. Bottom painted and hull waxed.

Props are back from the shop and installed as well.

The beautiful weather on Tuesday was very welcome and made for a very productive day!

I was going to try to launch april 1, but then I thought that it wasn't worth the risk of freezing and getting snow all over the boat so that I could boat in the cold weather a couple times. If my boat had heat, that would be different. I am now thinking about putting it in some time around Marh 1. If we get some 65 degree days soon though, it may just be going in the water sooner than later!

on or about May 1. I can get in the marina as soon as 4/15, but I won't be ready.

I have gone in the water every year no later than April 1st. Never have had any snow on the boat after that and never any ice or freezing water before.

I am set for the week of April 13th. Boat is waxed/detailed, new cockpit carpet. As soon as she is splashed, I have a canvas shop replacing all the canvas as well. Going with Taupe.

She should look good as new. Can't wait.

May 2nd launch at Colony Marine (Lake St.Clair), then heading south to home port of Sandusky OH. Going to the boat this weekend to wax! She is already polished.

May 1 launch in New Buffalo, MI.
Spend 2 days putting things in order and then off to home port
Hammond, IN

Start waxing topsides and bridge detailing this weekend.

The canvas on your boat looks great in that color. It's also one of best looking SRs built IMHO.

We will try to launch April 15 if the weather allows me to wax the hull that week.

My boat is inside heated. I need to put the drives back on (replaced impellors)
It is polished, I need to finesse II it and wax it still. (this sunday)
The cabin/cockpit are spotless, but I also need to take care of the topsides.
My boat is scheduled for April 7th

I am at Service 1 Marina just outside of town.
Heading over this weekend.

I see, good luck waxing! Should be a decent weekend to do some work on the boat. I should be over by Oselka doing some last minute details on mine both days if the weather permits, now I may be splashing next week.

May 1. Skipper Bud's In & Out Service does not allow launching before that date. However, I doubt I will be missing to much boating time with a bowrider.

Escapade -

Just watch out when you go to launch.... I think I took out your drain plug and not sure where I put it :)

I am looking at April 4th... a bit early - but I like to get in and be done with it - then I am not fighting for a luanch spot, etc come later in April. Can't do much with it till late April - but it's done with...

Plus - as someone else mentioned - lots of damage at McKinley this year...so have to see what happens there.
