Follow The Alaska Sea-Duction's Adventure Up the West Coast

Tom- Is there a reason you are staying so far up the Delta vs going down toward the Golden Gate bridge? I would thin k that when the window opens to go, you wouldn't want to be slow cruising out past the mother bridge. This is just a thought.

Yep I am cheap. Free vs $138 a night. If a weather window opens up next Friday, I will move the boat down to the bay the day before. Believe me I want to be at the Boo crusie....

And his boat gets to stay in fresh water with a covered slip! Who wouldn't love that? Maybe I'll do a drive by on Sunday as I pass by you Tom. Beers on me this time?

Oh, Free works for me vs $138/ night! Just was curious! take care of Tom, Ken. One day I hope we will meet!

Covered slip untill next weekend then I am getting kicked out to an exposed slip. We are leaving early in the morning heading home. Maybe. Give me a call before you come over. Weather window might be opening up Wednsday. Make call tomorrow

Hey Tom,

Looking at the models, I believe we can squeeze in our trips this week (pending updated weather of course). We are still planning to leave Richmond at 1600 on Monday. The conditions will be a bit rough for the first 20 hours and then if the models are correct, the sea conditions should be 5' or less as we go North. Take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Rough, small craft at Cape medencino through Thursday, but looking at flatening out after that. North of that it looks like things will calm down on Friday. Will wait toi see the reports tomorrow and will call Bob Tomorrow. Heading home as I have to go back to work. If window opens we will head back down. If you go, be carful as it is still rough.

That sucks Tom. Hopefully the window opens soon. Where are you keeping her in the meantime?

Tom, while waiting to start the journey is a difficult one to make, it's often the "I GOTTA GET HOME" attitude that sends many boats to King Neptune!

Yes pick your windows wisely. Of west coast of Van Isle they are looking up to 24 foot seas with this second storm coming in. With 49 to 60 mile per he winds. Should calm somewhat of the week.

Tom we have been getting pounded here in Portland with more rain than I've seen in a long time. Winds are blowing 35-50mph. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the big water this weekend. Best not to rush it and let the window open for a safe journey.

Hey Tom, thanks for the head's up on the fuel prices. We stopped by Antioch today and it was 21 cents less than Pittsburg. Very strange as they are usually the best price and their regular gas is cheaper than Antioch by a bit.

I have come to the realization that when this happens, it happens. Still keeping her in Oakley. Plan B would be to leave it in Oakley over the winter, already have the OK from the harbor master.

Looks like another window maybe developing for this up coming weekend. Wait and see what it bring in tomorrow's weather report before mobilizing the crew for Friday.

Tom,
I have been watching this thread with interest as I bought a non-Sea Ray last year and we are in the Delta. We hope to take her north in a couple of years to spend a year in the sound.

If I may be so nosy....can i ask the cost to have your fuel work done? I have a 30 year old diesel boat with 600 gallons of capacity and I am getting concerned about stirring up the muck in the bottom of the tanks.

If and when you come back down to visit your boat we are at Oxbow Marina and I invite you for a visit. www.oxbowmarina.com Bring the boat and spend the weekend. We are only about 20 minutes by boat from Perry's where Ken is. Maybe he will join us as well. He's been saying he is going to come by but....

Shawn

Holy crap! I can't believe we haven't gotten together yet! Perry's IS almost on the way to Oxbow too chief! The boat is in Pittsburg and we won't be back until the 13th after hanging out in Sausalito and Marin after Pittsburg Yacht Club. Great time of year for boating here. Spent a couple of hours Saturday dialing in towing the Caribe at 20 knots followed by a stop at Riverboat. Sunday, the crise to Pittsburg was fantastic. Mid 70's and light breeze......fahgetaboutit!

We used these guys:

http://www.cssifuelfiltration.com/

They put 4 inspection plates in, covers/hatches over the plates and polished the fuel and it cost me $2700. Real top notch group of folks at CSSI. Give Duke a call.

That doesn't include the cost of barrels and deposal of the 26 year old fuel I had to deal with at Ladds marinia.

Thanks Norcal. We will have to take up up on your offer and come for a visit. Hey Ken, you bring the beer??
