Follow The Alaska Sea-Duction's Adventure Up the West Coast

Just spoke with Tom, through the bar with brown undies. Just about to Astoria, he is going to turn everything off and sleep for "at least 10 hours." He crossed the bar on an ebb with a minus tide. One word, rough.

Looks like he is in his slip, what an awsome trip. How far to his dock from astoria?

Hey everyone,
Kay and I made if safly to Astoria. Lots to tell and share, but later in a few days. Shower, scotch and 10 hours of sleep. Thank you for all those who followed and sent us your prayers.

He must still be asleep.

Great writeup on your trip! Made my day so far! Going all night would be tough! Never been seasick as a Diver but you were on your boat longer than I have ever been on a boat! I'm sure night even makes it worse. So glad you two experienced this together....what a bond. I could see my wife trying this and I would be the Boat Boy!!!! So glad all went well, Mike.

Great to hear your trip was fairly smooth. Nice to have her home I bet!

Tom,

Great writeup on the blog. I'm not sure my admiral could handle the all night running, but I know you were up against a weather window. Glad you're home safe and sound.

Mike

Wow....what a trip and a wonderful write up. We're landlocked where we boat, and when I read adventures like this I'm always impressed. Glad your vessel did well, and the crew as well. Congrats to both of you.

I could not express my heart felt thanks for my wonderful wife and Geoff and his crew. It was a awsome trip. Next time and there will be a next time we will take it slower and put in each night. Once you get the salt in your vains you are infected for life!

Thats a Great write up, thouroughly enjoyed the read, and thanks for the photos, awesome country.

I can relate to people dropping out, and the night trip. We bought the Brother In Laws boat from the Whitsundays to Brisbane 2 years ago. Ended up with 3 of us, and due to storms, delayed flights, etc etc. ended up leaving Port at 4pm. The first leg we did 28 hours, so straight through the night. Due to my sleepiing issues, I went to bed at 9pm but was up at 10pm and on the bridge with my Brother in Law, which wasnt great! He falls asleep anywhere. Which ended up being in the co pilots chair, about every 45minutes shaking himself, looking at me asking if we were right, then his head dropped down again.

Tom, it was our pleasure to help you out. Anytime, you have my cell. Over night runs are tough. We did three of them for this trip, the first night out of San Francisco was by far the hardest. Seas were up, there was some wind and it was a long trek from the Golden Gate to Crescent city.

We will hook up again in the San Juans or Inside Passage....

Great adventure and write-up. Followed the story about you and the Searay up the coast. Glad it worked out successfully for you all and I now have a new bar to reach for.

Another SAFE trip done by Capt.Tom. :smt038

Thanks everyone. Could not have done it without the dedication of my wonderful wife and help from all my friends especially Dancing Angels. Thanks Geoff....
