Follow The Alaska Sea-Duction's Adventure Up the West Coast

Been reading the Blog. Great write up. I'm a little surprised the marina allowed the fuel polishing right there at your slip, but that was convenient.

Well we are sitting here in a big storm. Was planning to go to Antioch and fill up, maybe it will let up long enough to get that done. A possible departure of Wednsday/Thursday.

Nehalennia, they do it all the time around here. They have agreements with the differant marinas and are very safety minded. Glad I have nice clean tanks now.

Took the boat to Antiach and fueled it for the first time. 426gallons@ $1656.35 Didn't hurt as much as I thought. Kay's first ride on her new boat. Looks like we may have a weather window starting Thursday!

Tom, nice getting to meet you and check out the new non-Sea Ray you are preparing to run up the coast. Looks like a good solid boat and I am looking forward to follow your thread as you run up the coast. Nothing like sitting on a boat, talking about boats while sucking down a couple of cold ones!

Looks like this weekend is a go! Sea will flatten out starting Friday. Looks like I will move the boat to Sausalito on Friday, my crew will arrive that night and leave Saturday morning. Should have good sea through Tuesday morning and if the low in the Gulf O Alaska starts to move it will affect the PNW seas starting late Tuesday. Time to get things ready. Am I ready? I think so..........

Oh and I updated my MMSI information.

Clipper Yacht Harbor has fuel if you want to top off. I would stay at Schoonmaker Point Marina on the guest dock. $1.25 per foot plus $3.00 a night for power but a quick, easy exit to the Gate.

I leave for Sausalito in the morning around 7:30 PDT. Then out the gate on Saturday morning. There is a big storm coming in at the north, so we will be holding up in Eureka or Crescent City for a few days....Spot will be turned on.

Stay SAFE Tom :smt001, And double check that NO crybabies are hiding aboard..

Earlier today I got a call from my weather guy and my crew. My weather window closed as fast as it opened. I was hoping to make it to Crescent City by Sunday early morning, but 13-14 foot seas at 14 seconds is a bad situation.

So at this point we will wait and I will get an update from my weather guy tomorrow. Most likely I will be paying rent at this marina. maybe for the better part of the winter waiting on a window. Just frustrated with Mother Nature right now.

Safe travels Tom! You will get a treat in Sausalito tomorrow as the 164' Westport that Mike spotted in the Tri-cities, and I saw in Portland, will be there on Friday! She is a beauty!

May you have a safe trip North. Hope our paths cross again soon. I look forward to seeing the new boat! Congrats again!

This may be a blessing have you been able to do any local shake down runs? Getting out and stretching the new girls legs might be a good idea for checking out her systems.

Yep so far everything is checking out. Looks like a little more time in the Delta....

Tom- Is there a reason you are staying so far up the Delta vs going down toward the Golden Gate bridge? I would thin k that when the window opens to go, you wouldn't want to be slow cruising out past the mother bridge. This is just a thought.
