Firing gun from boat - illegal?

He misinformed you. There are ranges here that allow just about anything and there are ranges that follow the letter of the law and everything in between.

I've taken all of the MD classes on firearms. In every class an HQL is required to own, acquire and use at a range - a pistol in MD. I also have CCP for three other states and their laws are not much different. Now get pulled over or let a LEO find you in possession without proper licensing and see what happens. I recommend you call your local state police to find out the exact law, they are who governs the licensing in MD.

Black powder is legal and separate from other laws in MD and most other states. Although they are trying to change all that.

Question for you? Do you really think in today's world that is alright to own unlicensed hand guns? In some states it's mandatory one year in jail just for possession.

So the 2nd Amendment is only legal in MD if you get an HQL? Just to own you need an HQL? Seems unconstitutional to me. The 2nd Amendment didn't mention permits to own.
There are many different ways to acquire a firearm. That's what a friend told me.

Im sure states are different but….
Is it illegal to shoot from a boat? Throw rubber duckies in water as target practice. Anyone do target practice from boat?
There is a very old thread on THT, very short. One guy said it is legal in Mass. Not a lot of specifics about it on web, mostly about hunting not target practice.
In MD I would think that would be a big no no.
My next statement would be to remind you that you are solely responsible for that round. Any round that was to skip on the water and go hit someone or something would be on you.

Since 2013 if you want to be legal then yes. Currently owned with proper BOS prior to 2013.

Many states don't allow hand guns without permits. Right wrong or indifferent it is the way it is. MD doesn't say no unless you have a record (not sure on those particulars).

Nothing stopped me from getting the HQL, it was easy. In MD there is a ten day wait as well.

Im not referring to concealed carry etc. I'm only referring to owning a gun. Shocking.

Great thing about revolvers back in the 1800s…
If out of bullets you just beat the hell out of the other guy with it all that steel. Not like those wimpy polymer girly metrosexual things they make today.

Those polymers still have a metal slide, it's just the frame that's polymer.

You can not carry between VA and MD. Md does not recognize anyone’s permit

But you can carry from MD to VA.

There is an app by USCCA called Reciprocity gun laws and it is for checking the laws in other states and where you are legal and not. It shows a map of the US and color coded states based on your permits that you enter.

I have studied and practiced the fine art of pistol whipping. There is a correct way to do it and I'm sure the slide on my glock is gonna leave a mark.

Go get yourself a nice 1911 45 they're still steel, which is what I carry in the truck or a 10mm 1911.

Speaking of guns, this little Nashville girl had a shitty day at school today. I gotta say, when I first seen this picture I got something in my eye

I suspect it's just a matter of time before assault rifles go bye-bye in the US. Eventually they'll have received enough bad press that both sides of the aisle will have no choice but ban 'em. It's just a question of how much longer will it take...IMO.

That would certainly be a sad day for us all. Removing 2nd amendment rights based on the few that need help and don't get it. That part is what needs to be fixed.

When they go, so will a number of other riffles that that have nothing to do with anything. They seem to forget riffles don't kill people do.

They will ban the sale of new weapons, they're not coming for the guns already out there.

I would think that would be a little tough to do in a lot of cases. They would have a small war on their hands in trying that.

Yeah, who knows. Like @scoflaw I also imagine they'll find a way to ban new sales. At the same time I'd bet they'll severely restrict (or fully eliminate) the ability to buy the most common calibers or ammo for those rifles. Outside of reloading that's the only way you could effectively impact the millions of AR's already out there.
