Firing gun from boat - illegal?

I suspect it's just a matter of time before assault rifles go bye-bye in the US. Eventually they'll have received enough bad press that both sides of the aisle will have no choice but ban 'em. It's just a question of how much longer will it take...IMO.

First, I'll start with this:

Unfortunately, there's no clear definition of an "assault" rifle. By loose definition, our venerable Ruger 10-22's are assault rifles. And, as a number of you pointed out, it won't be the direct confiscation of the arms themselves. Rather, ammo and reloading supplies will continue to become more expensive and scarce.

Take a look around at society today. All the things they are pushing on kids at a very young age. Allowing children to change their gender, etc... None of it's normal and I'm seeing things that this recent shooter was a he/him now is a she/her (maybe I have it backwards?), can't make this stuff up....all that I known now is they are a...

Mental illness is real and should be treated. Gender dysphoria or whatever it is, is real to some...surely not to the masses that claim they are today.

Just my opinion though...you take God out of society and this is what you get...a Godless society. The devil is real and his greatest success is making people believe he isn't real...

Now, let's get this thread back on track. They had an AWB for 10 years, did it reduce crime? Chicago has effectively banned all guns - has it reduced crime there?

My heart weeps at how fast society is circling the drain at all levels. From gross fiscal irresponsibility, to the banana republic judicial system we have, to abandoning the belief in God, to enabling WW III (which has been going on for over a year). Now we have woke society pushing incomprehensible shit as the new norm.

Do any of us own an "assault weapon"? Please clarify. The AR is NOT an assault weapon if not used for ill intent. It as an evil looking black semi auto rifle that LOOKS like a full auto assault rifle. ie:an M4.

While I agree with your meaning and would be nice if that were the case. But Webster defines Assault Riffle as "any of various automatic and semiautomatic military firearms utilizing an intermediate-power cartridge,". Full auto has nothing to do with is it an assault riffle or not, it does have to do with whether or not to general public can own it or not.

With out getting into the available special licenses, the general public cannot legally own a full auto anything, nor can they be sold legally since 1986. And before then, the ATF had to approve ownership. So it is not easy for people to get legal full auto riffles. So the ones used in recent events are illegal riffles and the powers to be have never mentioned that.

This is why we'll end up with restrictions based on 1.) caliber and 2.) magazine capacity. The lawyers/law makers will never be able to effectively define the firearm itself

The UK banned any semi-auto rifle over .22 caliber. Anything bigger than that has to be bolt action and is limited to 2/3 round capacity, I think.

Perhaps we can still own our AR's in the future if they are made to be bolt action (pop the gas tube?) and the magazine capacity is limited to 2 rounds. Sure will save a lotta money at the range.

I do not know about you but I have never seen a gun simply get up, point itself at someone and fire... my guns have simply remained in their case... even when I opened the case up and placed it on the table...

It takes a person to pick up, aim and activate the weapon.

Why is the mental health of these perps never discussed?

Before they chemically treated these individuals with serious mental issues but locked them up in institutions... we never heard of these events...
