Electrical cords in the Water

But frankly its posts like yours that agitate John, and then he snaps at someone like me who has a rational response, because he thinks people are ganging up on him.

What? Are you a psychiatrist or something? You're right, my bad. Apologies.

People have been known to be electricuted by swimming near the boats in marinas.

I honestly hadn't thought about that!!! I've swum (swimmed?) near our dock (see lost sunglasses, deck brush...). Also, we have divers cleaning boats. Also, we had some snorkelers stabbing fish the other day. Hey, I'm a frickin' hero (TIC).

BTW: on a personal note John, thank you for your service to this country. I have never been in the military, but have great respect for those who sacrifice all they hold dear so that we may continue to live the American Dream.

Not required. Thanks. The ones to really acknowledge are the young kids over in Iraq losing life and limb in great sacrifice for us back here arguing about how to get to the beach. I, too, thank them for their true sacrifice.

This is my last statement on this issue. Let me pre-emptively apologize to anyone who takes offense. I hereby regret such slander and deeply regret any pain or hardship it causes to those who view it or their relatives past or present, and promise never to repeat such slander in the future. That being said...

That's funny stuff right there that is.

Wow. Don't read for a day. . .and look what crops up!! This thread is all over the place and yet. . . .more or less on topic.

FWIW: If any part of *my* electrical cords were in the water, I would *appreciate* the cord being brought out of the water, even if it meant being unplugged.

I recognize that having my power cord replaced is not as clean cut. .. . but on balance I would say "thanks" to the person who did it - - > and offer compensation for the cord (i.e. it is only fair to pay for the darn cord which is now powering my boat!).

- - - - - - -

I think both posts by Wesley in this thread are very much appropriate.

I'm not posting on this thread. It would be safer climbing the utility pole and restoring the power to our house myself than to present an argument here.

Best regards,
Frank

Wow, astounding 22 posts out of a total of 91 for Hampton. That's almost one out of every four. (Or 24.17582% for those of you not in the military) Put me outside the circle with Dave on this one. And pass the Lithium.

I think lithium is administered as some form of drug for some form of... Never mind. The internet wins:

"Lithium is used to treat the manic episodes of manic depression - hyperactivity, rushed speech, poor judgment and aggression. Includes lithium side effects, ..."

Man! Did you guys see the views? Over 2,300. It worked! We're a huge success. I'd like to thank everyone who made this all possible. Without you guys, I would have just been another tron on the internet. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much.

hahahaha I think a little pee leaked out.

if my boat is burning, sinking, doing back flips, or any other out of the ordinary stuff, please feel free to tell it to stop, I will not hold you liable, nor will I sue you, I will buy you a beer and say thank you for taking the time to correct the problem, someone please tell me what has happened to common sense here in the united states of the offended, my son served in the few the proud the marines right after 911 straight out of high school spent 9 months in the tarenkot valley as well as the bora bora mountains searching for the person responsible, why in the world would we spend time arguing or worrying about a frickin powercord, but this post sure does make for some interesting reading, go 3/6 marines and semper-fi, happy boating, Mike

PLEASE don't let this thread end! It's been the highlight of my day recently. I'm not looking forward to the withdrawal symptoms like I experienced when Garys vacation thread ended last year. So..... is it OK to unplug someone else's power cord?
