Before I used noflex I cleaned the shower sump. It does a great job maintaining your sump.... not sure it would cleanup a sumpI put a little down the shower drain so we will see how well it works.

Last week I cleaned it really well and put a few too many chlorine tabs in and really fumigated to boat! This is what got me going the noflex direction. Before I used noflex I cleaned the shower sump. It does a great job maintaining your sump.... not sure it would cleanup a sump
$28+$15 - For total of 15 lbs...What did those run you on Amazon? I've been having good luck with Unique Marine Digest It, which comes in liquid form. $40 for three 32oz bottles.
I just treated my system after a thorough pump out and flush with the Noflex. I put a little down the shower drain so we will see how well it works. I have a big orange filter with replaceable carbon pellets and I have had very neutral smelling vent when the toilets flush using the Blue chemicals from Camping world. We spend two nights a week at most on the boat and pump out on average, once a month. I'll treat each time I close down the boat and see how well it works. If I like it I think I may go the DIY mix.
Carpe Diem
Blue, instead of dumping in the shower drain (which takes water to drain it down) I took the lid off and sprinkled some in to allow it to sit in the sump. The difference over 24 hours was amazing. hard to prove with a picture, but I had black sludge floating on the water and submerged hoses covered in crud. The next day I could see the bottom on the sump box. Not AS clean as actually scrubbing it, but it did a dang good job until I can get in there and clean it myself. Before I used noflex I cleaned the shower sump. Just remember, you are building a Natural bacteria system. It takes time. I would say that 3/4 of the people I have recommended this to used it once or twice then quit said it didn’t work.
They had no interest in figuring out why it didn’t work as listed in post number one. They were not as sensitive To smells as my wife and could live with the blue packets just fine. It would’ve been too much work for them.
Good luck, it is the best I have found out there.

yikes !!... here is mine last fall after using Noflex all summer.... you have a ways to goHere's the after the next day. Black crap was floating on the water. I was impressed. Picture isn't great, but it's a lot better.
This is my first year with this boat and the PO used the blue liquid and although I changed the filter before the season still had a strong odor when the toilet was flushed. I starting using the No-Flex in April on the recommendations here and have stuck with it and can honestly say there is no more smell. I pour some down the toilet after pumping out and then a couple of scoops at the beginning of the weekend and it's working well for us.Just remember, you are building a Natural bacteria system. Thats why i bought several containers, i am sticking with it all year. after feedback from members like yourself, i am going to probably give it a couple years if needed> it had 19 years of crap built up, may take a little longer than i originally thought. I appreciate all the info

I refuse to use a pouf.... so I stick with bar soap....the sump just needs to get over itAs far as shower sumps go, we have eliminated the use of bar type soaps because they cause buildup in the hoses and pump box.

Don't fear the pouf. The exfoliating properties are worth it alone.....I refuse to use a pouf.... so I stick with bar soap....the sump just needs to get over it
My boat has two sumps. One for the forward shower and AC and another for the aft shower and salon AC.
I’ve been using Noflex in them for about three years and they both stay pretty clean. No more scrubbing them out.
I’ve also been using body wash instead of bar soap and pan tabs in the AC drip pans so that probably helps a lot too.
