Do any of you guys have project cars/trucks?

Doug, when watching the Mecum auctions it's always the same collectors buying/selling the Corvettes. I assume you are a T-Bird collector doing something similar? Nice way to fund your retirement the way the values on these old cars is going up.

'68 Chevelle 327/325 (L79) solid cam, 4-speed Muncie, 12 bolt 4.10 rear, Hurst, Hooker, Edelbrock, Accel, Cragar SS, blah blah blah...

Early 66-77 Broncos are my main interest but also Austin Healy's, and FJ40 landcruisers. Currently searching for the right XKE Jag to restore. Also seaching for a certain Impala, but most are already redone which I don't want, I prefer to restore myself. SB

Would like to start a project on an old Jeep CJ7 when the kids get older, but until then I have to settle for my every day driver. My wife said it was a project jeep or the boat. So I settled for this and the boat. I figured the boat would suffice for now. I will make some modifcations to this, but not what I would like to do with and older CJ.

The boat hauler is just a 06 durango, nothing special.

Oh - I gotta get in here... if it's not boats it's vehicles of some kind which I'm interested in. You guys have some really nice toys!

Here's mine:
DD is a 2006 Mustang GT - since been lowered with new springs and shocks, new wheels, new stereo with XM/DVD, etc...
DSCN2925.jpg

My old track car - still miss this thing! Did drivers schools and Time Trial events with it. It was a 92 which I put a 2000 1.8 engine in it - full suspension, roll bar, etc.
Miata-OakTree3.jpg

And the current project vehicle:
1974 Bronco - 302V8 - long tube headers and flowmaster, stereo - since this picture was taken it has much better tires on it - gotta have sand traction at the beach!

The trucks don't count - they're for work!

Alright, now that im home and have access to my pictures heres a few of the S10. It started off as a 500 dollar beater my dad bought me to get through my last year of college. ha it didn't last long in daily driver status.

this was about a year ago with with a lowering kit, paint and some 86 Z28 wheels.

This is about how she sits now. Air suspension all the way around with a Triangulated 4link(ignore the angle iron 2link:lol:) in the the rear. The suspension was about 75% finished in june when i bought the boat. Now its about 85% finished lol.

EVERYTHING has been done in my garage as of yet. I intend to keep it that way. Paint, body, V8 swap, Air suspension build ect...

EDIT: Here she is all the way up.

Hey, nice thread. And I finally see some nice Detroit Iron in here :smt001.

Here's my toy. A 1966 Chevelle SS. I bought it in pieces from a guy that started to restore it, but gave up. It was a frame off restoration, finished by me and my Dad in 1991. Everything was done by either him, or me.

I bought it without an engine or transmission since the original was long gone. I rebuilt a 350 small block which is still in there now. Forged aluminum pistons, Comp Cams cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold, Holley 650cfm carb, etc. Has Turbo 350 auto transmission and the original 12 bolt 4.10:1 rear. It will launch! I need to buy new tires... :smt001

My Dad and I did all the body work, he shot the original Madeira Maroon base coat clear coat paint and wet sanded it over a couple of month period. I did all the interior work, reupholstering the seats, etc.

In the fall of '06 my Dad and I put on the new Flowmaster exhaust system, including new ceramic coated headers. I started it up this spring with the camera rolling; you can hear it by clicking here!

It hasn't change much in the last ten years or so, averaging a few hundred miles a year to work and back. But this year it had a resurrugance and I bought all new ignition components and new rear seat belts so the kids (6 and 4) could travel in it with me. They love it now.

For my birthday, my wife purchased a complete 1966 396 big block! I had been eyeing it and she went behind my back and sealed the deal. It sitting on the engine stand in the garage awaiting a rebuild.

So much to do, so little time....car, boat, house...?! :smt101

Very Sweet!

Actually, I don't watch the auctions except Barrett Jackson once in a long while. I buy and rebuild myself. I have a problem not wanting to sell them. People call me to buy a car. I don't even look for them, they find me... very weird...

I've pretty much given up on the cars and spend most of my money on boating now... and upgrading her...

That is one sweet car.

Very nice. We had a 1996 glass top C4 for a while. Boat became more of a priority. I miss it and look in the paper weekly for a C5 as I think a C5 has a larger cabin.

1969 GTO originally a FL car,400 cu. in. of somewhat massaged American muscle....if you look real close there is a 350DA in the background that had just fallen off its trailer at the launch ramp after cable snapped...luckily only minor damage to boat! boat landed on props which had to be repaired but didn't even need new shafts...Tom

Beautiful:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Have a 66 Mustang Coupe. Good for a trip to the Marina on the weekend.

1967 Kaiser Jeep M-715 5/4 ton truck s the current project. This is a complete body off rebuild. The on-going project has been a 79 Jeep CJ-5 V8. It's been finished for quite a while, but like all things "Jeep", they are never truly maintenence-free no matter how well you restore them.

Got a pic? Kaisers are cool trucks. A friend of mine had one in college.
