Do any of you guys have project cars/trucks?

1969 GTO originally a FL car,400 cu. in. of somewhat massaged American muscle....

Beautiful. That brings back some memories -- in the summer of '69 after graduating from high school, I worked as salesman for a local Pontiac dealer. I remember the first two GTO Judges in town ("Here come da Judge, here come da Judge!"), one bright orange and one a very deep blue. I sold the blue one to a local enthusiast of muscle, and haven't seen another one like it since. I did see a restored orange judge on the street last week; that was their standard color. At the same time, we had the first Fierbird TransAm on our showroom floor, and a Grand Prix SSJ with the 455HO engine.

Got a pic? Kaisers are cool trucks. A friend of mine had one in college.

I'll try to remember to take some pics this weekend. The engine, brakes, underside and about 50 of the paint is all done. I've completed all the welding projects, etc. but need to fabricate the fuel, vacuum, and brake lines. Got an entirely new wiring harness, and need to install that too. It was a hoot to drive (like a tank) until I disassmbled it. Been doing too much boating all summer.

Not 100% Detroit but what matters is american muscle

Very cool. I also liked the Miatas with the Ford 5.0(didn't really like the car, just the power to weight ratio-a Miata is a little girly looking IMO).

One of the guys I used to swap parts with built a 95 Miata (12K mile body) with a Ford 5.0 HO/SVO crate motor then added twin turbo chargers. With 2-1/2" side pipes, roll bar, and enough tire to get the power to the ground there wasn't a damned thing girly about it!

While some may not like the overall look - I didn't think mine was girly... especially setup for CSP (SCCA C-Street Prepared class). Full suspension, brakes, ~160hp out of a 2000 motor in the 92 chassis. Certainly wasn't a 302 conversion - but it definitely embarrassed some cars on the track in the turns. Amazingly reliable - I could run the car for an entire season for what other folks were spending on repairs and overal maintenance. Doesn't look too bad for original 16 year old black paint huh?

Easy there. I wasn't saying the 5.0 Miata was girly, just the Miata in general-for my taste. Although the new ones have gotten better. Sorry if I offended anyone.
