CSR Northeast Flotilla 2016

No Kidding - I may need to bring the boat home for this......

You have no idea what you'll be missing, if you don't...LOL...Don't forget the Conch shells.

Just a little nostalgic photo from the last years raft up in block. Can't wait for the next one!

Dean, I thought you'll post those cool pics from your drone. BTW, speaking of pics, about 3-4 from the flotilla made the CSR calendar.

While you where busy playing in the Florida sun we all voted and ordered our calendars.......

Hehe..I thought people may be sick of seeing them by now since they are in the calendar.

Guilty as charged. Forgive me for saying that I prefer to carry the "gilt" for many years to come. Can you blame me for making the obvious choice?

Hey guys, it was great fun getting together for our winter rendezvous in Port Jeff. Sorry not all flotilla veterans could make it, but we hope to see you soon.

While I'm still waiting on for the official contract from Taylor's Isl administration (we're on their calendar for July 30th, so the rest is just a formality), we still have tons of open questions. Let's start with some adventurous questions:

1. Where is best port to do the dinghy poker run?
At this time two ports come to mind, Coecles harbor (Shelter Isl) and Lagoon Pond (MV)

2. Where to do a group bike ride?
Number one candidate is MV. It's very bike friendly island and we just have to pick our destinations. When I go to Edgartown, we always ride the bikes to Oak Bluffs. From ET to OB it's about 6 miles or so. I glanced at the map and see that it's only about 3 miles going to OB from Vineyard Haven.

There are tons of places to do bike tours, so I just wanted to get the conversation going.

I'm not sure how much biking we can do in Hyannis, so I figured we'll focus on MV for now.

Let's hear some other ideas....

I'd like to propose another activity for Coecles Harbor. Greg and I did this few years ago and it was fun.

Coecles Harbor has Marine Water Trail, which is explored by dinghies. This could be nice dinghies caravan activity.

What you guys think, should I add it to the daily compass?

I think I'm going to refrain from voting on this trip from now on in as my grandchild is due that week and I have a feeling I may not make it to the flotilla . And if she's late I couldn't leave home knowing I have the potential of missing the birth while I'm away.
so whatever everyone votes for we'll agree.

Congrats Joe. Martha mentioned it at the rendezvous. Very exciting. Let's hope she's early.

Both dinghy exploration and bike riding sound great. Of course, I'm a bit concerned about the little ones. Basically, for me there is no set pace that's attainable. I have girls, there is always drama. That being said. We'd vote for it.

Congrats Joe and Martha! We hope the timing works out so that you can make the trip.
The Dinghy Trail in Coecles sounds interesting. I will need to search for the brochure you attached as I can’t really read it on my screen. A bike ride in MV sounds like a good choice as well. I will need rentals for us and Danny, so hopefully there is something nearby.
If we do the Dinghy Trail in Coecles and the bike ride in MV, it seems logical to have the Dinghy Poker Run in Hyannis. Otherwise, we will be trying to pack two dinghy excursions into a 3 days stay which maybe a little too much.

As Alex said, Biking on MV is a nice way to see the island. Harold, there are lots of places to rent bikes in Vinyard Haven which is a short dingy ride away or in Oak Bluffs which would be a cab ride or decent walk from the Pond. Keeping in mind those of you with young kids, there are not many sidewalks between VH and OB so with that many people the ride between OB and ET is a safer bike ride with sidewalks most of the way.
Dingy poker run in either place would work well but I am personally going to vote for Hyannis becasue I am not sure how much time off that week I am going to be take during the
We have a family vacation planned for a week in July up in Canada so that will eat up some of my time off for the summer. It really depends on how many projects I have to see how much I can get away.
Alex, if you want to update the front page this is my plan. Our plan is to come over to MV in the evenings and hang with everyone till bed time and then head back to my slip (10 min run) and hopefully take Thursday and Friday off to be With the flotilla till you guys head out.

Thanks Jeremy. I found a place in VH that rents: http://marthasbikerentals.com/. Looks like they may even have something for kids to make a tandem bike. Still checking into.

We have a tag along for Lexi that attaches to the seat pole.
I can bring it over for you guys in MV if you want to use for Danny so you don't have to rent one.

Jeremy,

Where would you say we could utilize (in VH and/or Hyannis) a park for activities like a soccer game? It would be nice to have it on our plan in case of not swimming weather.

Hey guys. Carol and I would like to include ourselves for this years trip, at least part of it. We will be in for the Shelter Isl and MV part. After that we may head to Nantucket or our favorite stop, Block Isl. Our boat is Harmony, a 2005 42 Sundancer. Looking forward to getting to know everyone better!

Also, do any of you do the MarineMax/Searay rendezvous? It's August 12-14 in Montauk this year. Any input you guys have on it would be appreciated.
