CSR Northeast Flotilla 2016

I actually want to look into this. He's been telling me for a while that if I bought a trailer he would at least bring it home for me at the end of each season if I picked up a trailer. Where would one begin to search for such a trailer? I'm curious as to the cost.
You'd need a low profile trailer, as I recall, to avoid taking off the radar arch and keep the height under 14'. There's a certain permit (a bit more money than regular) that will need to be ppurchased. I think I paid under $3K between Tampa and NJ.

We need to have your cousin do a CSR special. Do couple of runs having 2 boats on a trailer. The next thing you know, the flotilla will be cruising to Bahamas.:wow::thumbsup:

I’m not sure buying the trailer is worth the hassle. Storing it, maintaining, it all adds up. And it’s just for two trips a year at best. I’m sure new one cost a lot. You can easily google and get quotes from couple brands. For used one, I’d start with ebay.

I was thinking that but just curious as to the numbers and what the ROI would be.

I know someone who has a boat mover haul the boat and transoort it to his house ,block it and re launch it in the spring
My dinghy trailer sits all summer at the back of the driveway and it drives me crazy looking at it
Unless you could store the 40' trailer somewhere during the summer? Im sure you could find one for $2500 but then you need to store, maintain etc like Alex said. I realze winter storage is more than a used trailer when its added up yearly
You need to make sure you want a 35' boat in your driveway
We had the 250 DA for 2 months in the driveway and hated the look!!!

I have to be careful what say on here as Tammie jumps on now and then to check this thread..lol. I've talked about storing the boat at home over the winter and she hates the idea. We have the space and it wouldn't be visible from the street or to the neighbors but every time she looks out the kitchen window. I would just need to plant some evergreens and make it look nice.

It's pretty much clear what we would be doing in Shelter Isl. Shall we start thinking of interesting activities in MV and Hyannis?

Good idea. Anything to help get through the winter!

If some of you who have been to MV and Hyannis could suggest some activites that you have seen/done in those locations, I think that would be helpful to those of use who have not been there before. I would assume the normal activites of a bicycle ride to a destination, flying kites in a local park, group lunch or dinner to a local restaurant and of course a dinghy race are available. (Gotta have the dinghy race/water fight!!)

Got a chance to meet some of you after the boats show at Javitz. We had a good time and this sounds like it will be a great trip. I think we may want to do 7 Days where we perhaps do Montauk after after Martha's Vineyard but we have plenty of time to think about it.

Welcome Jean, I know we have spoken for quite a while and just like Vinny once you make your first trip with the group you'll be hooked. Beautiful boat by the way...

Welcome aboard Jean! Joe is right, after the first trip you will be hooked, just like we were.

About time you got on csr! Still got your kayak ore from aquapooloza

Lol hey Jonathan thanks but we didn't lose a kayak. My daughter just lost an oar. One of our neighbors may have lost it. I'll try to find out.

Oops sorry I was reading this on the phone without my spectacles. I totally skipped that part.

It was nice meeting you and admiral after the show, Jean. Welcome aboard! I've added your info on the official list of participants on the first page.

And don't say you haven't been warned ........

Cheers.

Should the itinerary on the first page be revised to reflect our current plan? That way anyone else joining in sees what our "new" plan is.
