CSR Northeast Flotilla 2016

Thanks Jeremy for setting things up.

i looked at the menu for Nancy's online. It looks good to me. I hope the weather does not warrant it, but the bowling sounds like it would be fun.

Jeremy, thanks for making the reservations at tugboats.

It sounds like OB has a lot more to offer in terms of dining options, so if getting around is not an issue, I'd say let's go for restaurants in OB. This will also gives us additional inceptive to explore the area.

P.S. The restaurants in the pic are:
1. Art Cliff Diner.
2. Net Results.
3. The Black Dog Tavern.
4. La Soffitta.

I haven't been to any of the other restraunts you listed above. We don't spend too much time in VH, we tend to go to OB or Edgartown. You usually can't go wrong with Seafood on the island.

Some Moore places on the harbor at OB are the:
Sandbar -food is ok but drinks are good.
Coup de vile - good wings and other nice place for a drink
Back door donuts is always a treat - bakery making fresh baked goods and thier donuts are excellent.
Offshore Ale Company - it isn't on the harbor and isn't very beachy feel but good food and is one of the bigger places.
Slice of life - small place great for lunch, this is one of my wife's favorites

I just put in a call to Doug , the owner of Nancy's. They don't take reservations but he is going to get back to me regarding the group. I'm sure I missed it but is it the 1st or 2nd we're eating at MV?

Ross, if you forget some dates jump to the first page and you'll see the summary of the float plan:

Day 1 (7/30) - Shelter Isl (Feast of the East)
Day 2 (7/31) - in SI
Day 3 (8/1) - SI to MV ~ 85NM (4-5hrs cruise)
Day 4 (8/2) - in MV
Day 5 (8/3) - in MV
Day 6 (8/4) - MV to Hyannis ~ 20nm (1hr cruise)
Day 7 (8/5) - in Hyannis
Day 8 (8/6) - in Hyannis
Day 9 (8/7) - Hyannis to Montauk ~ 85-90NM (5hrs cruise)
Day 10 (8/8) - travel to home port day.

I think 2nd or 3rd would be preferred days to have group dinner, but we have some room to play there.

I think 8/2 would be best for MV and 8/5 would be best for Hyannis. That way we are not leaving the next day for the next destination. But, am willing to go with the flow.

BTW, according to Jeremy's post, Hyannis has been reserved for 8/5.

Since I thanked him for making the reservation, I guess I did see that. That's what I get for goofing off and reading CSR while at work! (I wouldn't have it any other way!)

Spoke to my friend yesterday who has a home in VH. He said the hot new spot is a place called Beach Road. Guy has several other restaurant that have done very well.

He also said Net Result is great place with the tables outside and all. I would be happy with that choice.

He also recommended Copper Wok which is attached to Mansion House Hotel. He said don't be fooled by the name. They have great seafood as well.

Just wanted to pass it on.

Although we will only be joining you guys in Shelter, we will have our 3 year old daughter with us so they can "hang out" together!

Party! I also set up the outside tv with the surround sound at night before bedtime so the parents can all hang out while keeping an eye on the little ones. Seems to work very well so far

Unfortunately with the work deadlines lining up the way they are I couldn't get the week off that I was hoping to get for this trip. :( Enjoy guys.

Sorry to hear that Jean. Any chance you can sneek away for the first weekend in Shelter Island??? So you can enjoy at least part of the trip......

We're going to see if that could work. We haven't been to Shelter island and would love to check it out!

So who will be cruising up long island sound on the morning of 7/30? We're on the Housatonic River and would be heading out and over to Shelter around 8am if conditions are good. Also Alex can you post the approximate gps location of where we will be anchoring in SI?

Thanks guys!

Dean, we should be heading through the sound early on 7/30. I think you may cruise faster than me though, what speed do you like to cruise at?

We have to be back on 8/8 so we will either have to leave on 8/6, or early morning of 8/7.
