CSR Northeast Flotilla 2015

My reservations are made at both Island Boat Yard and Newport Harbor Hotel!

Now, come on August!!!!


 
Hi Alex, We would like to join the August trip. We definitely want to go to Shelter Island and Newport RI. We may stay on for East Greenwich but not 100% sure. We won't be going to Block Island because we already signed up to go with Marine Max the following week. Thanks!! Vinny and Robin
 
At the least we'd love to stop in when you're all in East Greenwich (one of my fav spots). Will let you know about the other stops! Thanks Alex.

Hey Vinny,

Now that's how you start participating in a forum! Excellent first post. Welcome to CSR and welcome to the Northeast Flotilla!

I'll update first page with your info. Keep me posted on your plans for the other port. A quick warning, once you join our group, you might not want to abend your trip. :lol: So, plan on 2nd run to Block with MM.

Let me also say welcome to CSR and to the Flotilla! You will find that this forum is filled with lots of great information and lots of good people. Where on Long Island are you? If you are interested, several of us are getting together for the Jones Beach Air Show on Memorial Day in Zach's Bay. It is a good way to get an intro to some of the people and a "warm up" for the trip. (It is what I did last year before my first Flotilla)

i am am curious, which MarineMax is running the trip to Block? I did not see it in the event list on the MM website.

If you guys recall, Vinny and Robin also joined us this past PJ Rendezvous.
 
Ok well here is my plan. Since im pretty sure the entire trip is out of my league this year my new plan is to leave my marina at daybreak or a little earlier and head to block Saturday aug8th. Stay in the raft with you gUys as long as you stay and then I will be heading over to a mooring ball until Sunday the 16th. Hopefully all works out for me!

I am happy you can make part of the trip, but have to ask, unless you have other commitments for the week, could you join us in the raft up in Shelter on Aug 1st then go straight to Block to be there when we arrive?

Glad you can make at least part of the trip, Jonathan.

Here's what I would do, considering you need to get back to work during the week. As Harold suggested, I'd join the flotilla in WNH for the weekend of 8/1. When flotilla head to Newport Mon am, you come with us and split of as we're passing Block (about 10NM East on our STBD side). You leave your boat in Block on a mooring for $40 a day. Get a ferry to LI and get a ride home. The following Friday, head to Block and spend a weekend with us in a raft.

With only one day off, you'll have two awesome weekends with minimum $ spent. One in Shelter and one in Block.

I don't know if this is exactly what Harold meant in his post.

I'm thinking about some activities and have a question to all. Who has kayaks (hard shell or inflatable, single or double doesn't matter), which you plan bringing on the trip? I just know of 4 available kayaks. Greg has 2 inflatable ones, Larry has 1 hard shell and I have 1 inflatable. Anyone else has one?

If we have more, I was thinking it could be cool to have kayak race for the kids or a mixed teams, kids and adults.
