CSR North East Rendezvous

WOW - Lots of interest so far... My 300 is in Westbrook now (Pilots Point) and I plan on taking delivery there and taking advantage of a "slip swap" until memorial day when we head to newport for the weekend (Newport Harbor Hotel) It is tough to get a lot of transient dockage at some of the Brewers locations (Mystic, etc) if you are not a member its even worse - I agree - lets see how many more people chime in and what the concensus is. Maybe we could do one early in the river - even for the day (Hamburg cove has been suggested or Brewers deep river. and another late June or July at one of the other locations...

Count us in too. We'll be starting our second year at Brewer's Pilot's Point in Westbrook, but anywhere east of that is no problem for our 370DA. Hope there's a date when we can make it!

I don't have any connection with Essex Island, but it seems like they accomodate lots of groups. Once we get an approximate census we can call to check availablility. I have not been to Hamburg Cove in decades. Does anyone know if a large raft-up is possible there? Are there moorings and/or room to anchor?

Count me in! Either and overnight or a day trip.

if i'm going to travel that far, it better be longer than a day trip. It might end up being more like a stop over for an extended trip, maybe block island or montauk afterwards. But the Sound is going to be new to me so i'm game for anything.

We would go if we did something along the coast. WIth a 205, we arent very big and probably couldnt handle much outside the LI sound, but would be in if CT river or coastal driving was a consideration.

Anyone up for the weekend of May 17th - An early season get together in the CT river (Hamburg Cove) and maybe an overnight at one of the Brewers or ? then Duck Island the next day for those interested....We could also do another one the first weekend in August at a more Ambitious location like Block Island or Newport (If Mooring/Docking is a problem in Newport we could do Dutch Island or Potters Cove) - If we can agree to a date early enough I will work with the Newport Harbor Hotel to get us in

We Are At Brewer Deep River .love To Meet Up On The Rendezvous.some Great Places On The River.hamburg Cove ,essex Island ,ect

How about rafting up at Duck Island in Westbrook for an afternoon? It is protected, plenty of room to raft up, and it does not need to be complicated with slips etc.?

After reviewing the thread I've come up with some dates/locations.....Friday August 8th, Napatree Beach - For those of you that have never been its a real treat. The Trailerables can use The Main St (state) ramp or Barn Island. Watch hill is a short walk/dinghy ride away with much to do - or just hang out on the beach and enjoy the surf. If Friday isn't a problem (work) for everone we should be able to get a nice spot! On Saturday we can head to Newport - I'm sure with enough notice Newpor Harbor Hotel, Westwind, Goat Island, or Old Port (moorings) can accomodate our group on a non-holiday weekend - Those that want to extend the trip alone or in a small group can go on to Block island, Mystic, Montauk, etc.....If you are in on this please PM/Post - if you PM please include an e-mail so we can all keep in touch as it gets closer......There has been a lot of interest in a Ct River trip too so Rendezvous#2 May 17th Hamburg Cove near essex and if there is enough intrest overnight at pilots point (westbrook) and Duck Island the following day - again please PM and/or post

Mike

Just a heads up that the weekend of 8/8 is the Newport Jazz festival and it may be very tough to get space for a group. We plan to be in Newport the weekend before (which is the folk festival) and it is always tight for dock space.

It seems like there is something going on in Newport EVERY weekend - they do a great job marketing! - we could do Block Island instead but I still think if we can get our collective act together soon enough we can pull it off

Ok you north eastern freaks, spring is in the air and i'm itchin to plan some trips. lets get this back on track and start planning this.

I don't care where it is as long as I can make it there in a day.

my drives are off, manifolds and risers are on order. I'm planning to drop in the water in T-minus 3 weeks. 1 week to make sure everything is good to go and then off to port washington. Early spring raftups are welcome.

How about Mitchell's town marina? Its new, always seems to have availability, lots of restaurants and shops right there. No pool, but dinghy over to shell beach and go swimming.

Where's that marina at? i'm looking on google maps and i'm not finding it.

boy you like to push the range of my 280. Is there any place to get fuel between port jefferson and greeport? looks like a great location, right across from shelter island.
