CSR North East Rendezvous

I have long standing reservations in Newport for August 1-3.

Gary's coming, everyone stock up on stain remover and toilet paper scarecrows.

I'm not coming.. I just said that was a good date.

I'm bringing the Four Suns up to Boston on July 7th and the family will come up and we are moving the boat south through August 2nd hitting some of the New England hot spots (Nantucket, Martha's place, Block Island, etc.).

So... I won't be in the area on the date you proposed...

doh! I thought he was going to join us. Well he pretty much has to cruise by me twice so the odds are good I can launch a few water balloons onto his deck.

I'm waiting to see if the adirmal can take vacation time at this time. So we'll either come for the weekend or if she can take the time stay for several days. We use to boat out of the CT River, so Greenport was a frequent place to visit. Will be nice to go back.

Also since we purchased this boat we haven't taken any long trips, so it'll be interesting to see the difference between this boat and the last.

Sound like a meal at Claudio's....
I will try to make this trip also.

I'd come, but I dont believe a 205 sport would last in anything more than a couple foot waves :smt001

We have one trip planned for the summer with a bunch of my hockey buddies and the wives to go from Fairfield over to Port Jeff for an overnight at Danfords. One of the guys is very good friends with the owner and he promised us 3 or 4 slips whenever we want them if we give him a few days notice.

Across the sound on a nice day more inland is all I would try with my size.

BillandAmy...same here....would love to get to the essex area too.....What days are you thinking of heading over there?
Have a friend of mine (non-SR ) and his wife that trailer also.

Are you speaking of when we go to Port Jeff?

Not sure, it was about 2 weeks ago in a slightly drunken stupor after hockey that we were discussing it, and we spoke about it last night too. So far, we are planning around the end of July sometime so that we arent near holidays of any kind.

Did you want to cruise over too? I couldnt promise you a slip specifically at Danford's, but Port Jeff has a bunch of moorings and dockage for public use.

Dave, what days did you book?

I'll give them a call monday.

Dates are booked. 7th-leaving on the 11th. I'm on the "smaller boat" dock, Dave's on the "bigger boat" dock. It's not that large of a marina. It's my first boat trip to this area and i'm looking forward to it.

You're gonna love it there. The marina is brand new, kinda basic though, no pool or laundry facilities. Both Townsend Marina and Brewers Sterling Harbor have pools and full facilities with Townsend being walking distance to the village. Lands end golf course just about a mile from the marina if you're bringing your clubs. Plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance and a quick ferry ride over to Shelter Island.

We should also note:

if you book 4 nights, you get a 5th night free.

Great Turtle! you will love it.

The laundry is next to the supermarket across the street, drop it off and the staff do all the work!
