Has this been done in the past? My home port is Brewers Greenwich Bay in Warwick RI - I do most of my boating between Newport and Mystic - Anyone out there interested in putting somthing together? Block Island, Cuttyhunk, Duck Island, Ct River?

You can count us in. We take delivery of our boat right at that marina in the Spring of 08'. We usually stay there for a month or so dealing with any issues that arise, but then head over to our home marina at Brewer Sakonnet. Assuming you purchased from Bassett Boat right there in Greenwich Bay, do you go to their rendezvous' every year?
We do Block, Cuttyhunk and the islands quite a bit every year, so if we can get something going...we would be in!

Great idea. Count me in. Let's see where most people will be coming from before we decide on location. I swore that I would never spend another night on the hook at Duck Island again. If there are a lot of Brewers people we might consider one of their locations.

Would love to be there.....big waters for our little rig though

I'm interested. Lots of places to choose from.

Have trailer. Will travel.

Someplace in CTwould be great. I have not had a chance to get over that way much in the last two years, and would love to check out some cruising grounds over that way. It seems like there might be a lot more northeast boaters here than I originally thought.

Essex Island Marina on the CT river is a great place for a group rendezvous.

we'd love to join you guys. We just bought a 2000 40 Sundancer and it would great to meet some of the other CSR members. Our slip is in Buzzards Bay, near the Cape Cod canal. With our previous boat, we did trips to Newport, Block Is and Cuttyhunk all the time and we did the trip down to Mystic once.

Any of the places mentioned would be OK with us.

im up the river from Sea Gull so i'll follow his 58DB all the way to where-ever we go! (we gawk at your boat every time we go by it but ive never gone by when it looked like you were there, or i would have stopped to say hello!) No matter where the rendezvous is, im in. It'll be lots of fun thats for sure. :)

WOW - Lots of interest so far... My 300 is in Westbrook now (Pilots Point) and I plan on taking delivery there and taking advantage of a "slip swap" until memorial day when we head to newport for the weekend (Newport Harbor Hotel) It is tough to get a lot of transient dockage at some of the Brewers locations (Mystic, etc) if you are not a member its even worse - I agree - lets see how many more people chime in and what the concensus is. Maybe we could do one early in the river - even for the day (Hamburg cove has been suggested or Brewers deep river. and another late June or July at one of the other locations...

Looks like some smaller boats....I would love to meet up guys.
I hear that Essex area is nice.
Perhaps we could do our own Island rendevous...CSR style

Any idea on a date....??? It would be a two day trip from Jersey....I'm going to the BIH '08 get together in June....July or August could work for me....

Yes, we need to pick a date and a location. From the response so far it looks like the bigger boats would like an overnight at a nice marina and those with trailerables would prefer a spot where they can launch and join the bigger boats for a day in a nice anchorage.

Essex Island Marina would be nice and they can accomodate groups. During the day we would head to Hamburg Cove. Duck Island was suggested also. This would allow us to overnight in Westbrook at Brewer or in Clinton at Cedar Island with the daytime outing at Duck Island. A combo of Greenport/Coeckles harbor could work, but tough for the trailer boats. Actually, I have no idea where launch ramps are in relation to Essex or Clinton, so someone needs to help out there.

Can't we all just invade your 58 for a few hours?

For some reason, the Caddy Day pool scene from Caddy Shack keeps playing in my head.

I agree - Do you have a connection at Essex Island? The River will be a great spot to accomodate the trailerable boats. We could do it early - mid may or even memorial day (I was planning on Newport but plans can change) if not late july or early August work best for me. How many nights? Two different locations? Lets get the concensus on early in the season or later and nail down the date - it seems like we have our approximate location if noone objects

State launch ramps are right on the CT river under the route 95 bridge in Old Saybrook(ish) area. Really big and really nice with lots of parking to leave your tow vehicle and trailer. Short jaunt up to Essex from there or to the mouth of the CT River. And from the mouth of the CT river, Greenport is a very manageable trip for even the trailerable boats since we'll be traveling in groups.
