Maybe the 300 "Guest" bots are the problem? The BOE site requires constant verification that it is a human not a Bot... Maybe CSR needs this also?
... Another thing I noticed is I use the 'New Posts' button and when I click on a link in that list it usually takes me to a post thats a few days old and that I have already read. It used to be it would take me to the first one that I hadn't read
Go to the BOE site and look up Axiom chart plotters. The try to get more info hitting the various links... Nothing, nada.. just moves you down the page to "other items from this manufacturer".The upgrade to the BOE site is ridiculous and makes the site a real PITA to navigate. It does that for almost every item click, unless they changed it recently.

First time I’ve been able to get on all week
We updated our accounting software package which resided on the same server as our web and email interface. Firewalls kept us in compliance with the Gov requirements and needed to be updated with the accounting changes. The firewalls were the most persnickety and troublesome things to get right and keep the server from crashing. It was painful and worse yet the developers kept pointing fingers at us rather than taking ownership of their mess.Today I clicked on "New Posts" and only saw 3 or 4. Clicked on one and then hit the back button and refreshed and there were multiple pages of "New Posts".
I can't see another server upgrade going so wrong. It's shame as it doesn't have to be this way. I do this stuff quite a bit for my comp. and I only ever have a day or so of small bugs.
And to @PlayDate's point, no one has responded to any of this.
This leads me to believe the job of hosting the site went to the lowest bidder...Pretty bad today. But the limiting factory is now the index.php page:

This leads me to believe the home page is probably suffering from backend processing. More than like doing to much pre-processing and making inefficient SQL calls to try to assemble the page html to render. Note that is was only for 34.12KB to be returned. It could also be compounded that the server is overloaded from multiple requests.
I am beginning to believe that this is a case of bloat, bad SQL processing and a good case of "Just because I can doesn't mean I should" when it comes to programming. More and more I see programmers that do not know what they are doing putting stuff together.

Once his advertisers find out they are throwing their money away by advertising on a site that is unreachable half the time and they turn off the money faucet maybe he will do something.Open note to Jim: @CSR_Admin
Fix this crap! If you aren't going to respond to any of the CSR members who have helped make the site a resource for Sea Rays at least fix this crap.
This is today's problem:
Total: 698 (members: 21, guests: 677)
This site has never more than a couple dozen guests logged on. Today we 677. Clearly the site is incapable of handling the load and the additional ad server links are killing it.
Either fix it or lose your long time members. Not saying anything is making it far worse.
