Boat Name?!?

My initials are DD so when we were wanting a bigger and new to us boat and cam across this one I knew I’d seriously take a look at her.
She has been good to us so far so we are treating her to new electronics and wood flooring this year!!!!

Our newest boat to us is Andiamo

My wife is Italian, So we took a two week Tauck tour to Italy the tour guide would say Andiamo, Andiamo all day so when it was time to name the new boat to us she said Andiamo to remind us of the awesome trip we had.

Inconceivable.

Because at one low point in my life, it was inconceivable to me that I would ever have a boat like this.

However, some people think it is named after the movie “Princess Bride”… so I named the dink “As You Wish”.

All my boats up to this point have been named “On a Tangent” because I’m a designer with raging ADHD. If you know, you know.

My current boat is “Seafood” because Caddyshack, and I have a lot of Dangerfield in me.

My wife has traveled to Africa 4 times, I joined her on 1 of those trips where we went on a 2 week safari. We had such an amazing time we promised that we would go back on safari again. Our boat name reflects that, Seafari, as we're trying to bring the safari to the sea.

Love it! At one point before getting the boat, my wife and I had picked out a 40' class-A diesel pusher. All white. I already had the license plates in mind: "Moby D" for the motorhome, and "Ahab" for the towed rig behind it.

So basically you are ‘enhancing’ her natural assets.

Current SR is "Quest", representative of what we expect to do with her, traveling the SF Delta. Secondary was the travels and trials we went through to find and acquire her. Previous names on our vessels were "Liberty" and "Crannoch." Crannoch is a man-made island in Scotland, created to defend against warring tribes, and located beyond archery range. Over time, they anchored themselves to the "loch" bottoms and became peaceful places to be.
Personal favorite was the Millimeter, gifted to me by my bride one Christmas. She has a bright dark green hull. And during the family Christmas gathering we were debating possible choices, like "Envy," "Kermit" and others. Son-in-Law thought further of Kermit and said, "It's not easy being green," which ultimately became "Knot Easy." That was actually true in the sense of the challenge to sail her, as a scaled down version of the America's Cup 12 meter boats. Though less than 10' in length, she had a keel, pedal steering, full sloop and spinaker rigging. I was always grinning or giggling when sailing her.
Boating friends favorite names are "Current Affair" and "In-decent Seas"

My dad had many boats while I was growing up. They all had their own name and story, and I ran them all regularly.

He and I ordered both of our first brand new boat together as a 50/50 in 2014. Since we are both electricians we went with “Stray Current”

We sold that in 2020, after my now wife and I bought our Dancer in 2019.

I decided to keep “Stray Current”

I told the Warden that I'd like the chorus to this song on my tombstone. Somehow I don't think my wish will be granted

But Hair Nation is always on .....

I'm also a fan of the Tom Selleck Jesse Stone movies which take place in Paradise, Mass so it has a double meaning for me.

What’s your boats name?

How did you pick it?

Big boat: 'Knot Shore'. Because I'm really not sure about it. It's okay, but if someone offered me what I have into it it'd be gone in a heartbeat. I'd rather be boat-less to be honest. Live and learn.

Little boat: 'Knot Tied Down'. Because that thing is rarely tied to something. It's always moving!

Our first boat (79 srv300) was named by my grandpa Gloria J after my grandma. Our second boat (88 250 CC) was named Silver Bullet because my dad loved Coors Light at the time. The 91 280 WE was named after my step mom ( I named that one). in 2000 my parent smoked to Henderson,NV for the winters hence the name of our 01 340 AJ Hard Eight. When we traded it on the 44 DA we just transferred the name. My next boat which will be 100% my decision I plan on naming Tony's Dream.

Last Run.

1988 300 weekender. Bought for $800 after being partially sunk on and off for close to 5 years. Bought originally for transmissions, air conditioner, and foward hatches. As a challenge because i was told i could not do it, i got the engines to fire and run. Gutted all engine bay stringers and filled with epoxy ( expired and left over all free). New head gaskets and water pumps. Figured id get a year out of it. Named it accordingly since i thought it would always fall apart, blow up, split in half, and the next trip would be its LAST RUN. 3 years later. Hundreds of miles. Same motors and running gear. Gets 1.5 mpg. Everything works. Paid more to get nice seats than for the entire boat and what it cost me to build a trailer. Love 80's sea rays. Want a 390 now [ minimum work required] .

I feel like I've written this before, but here it goes again. 300 Weekender was Full House (3 daughters, 2 sons)
320 was "Our Hands Full" people loved to stop my wife with 5 kids so finally my daughter would say "I know, I know, she has her hands full". Still played off the full house theme. The 500 is named Aim High. Lots of meanings here besides striving for something I never thought I could own. But, wife and I both served in the USAF, got married in the USAF, and as a dentist, if you miss a mandibular block (shot to numb lower teeth) the trick is to aim high to get the block.

"Into the Mystic" from the Van Morrison song of the same name.
"Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly
Into the Mystic"
I was supposed to see Van last weekend in Lauderdale.. moved it to April great song
