The NWS marine forecast indicates that the weather is finally going to break by the weekend. The 5.5' waves from yesterday off of Port Canaveral are supposed to be under 2' by Friday. The winds are supposed to die tomorrow as the low pressure system pushes to the north. All of that will happen faster the further south you are. Your crossing should be in near perfect conditions if the NWS is accurate.

you may want to take a look at this from NOAA. You may already be aware of it but I didn't look at it until this morning
It is a beta (experimental) forecast site for wind and waves based on different criteria than the main NOAA site.

That still seems to corroborate the NWS forecast. The difference seems to be that the Gulf Stream is twenty miles closer to the coast in those south Florida charts than it is off of Port Canaveral. On either side of the stream it looks good. I had not seen that analysis before and have bookmarked it, thanks.

Speaking of the Captains meeting, it's going to be difficult for all of us to get together in person since some folks are not local. I was thinking about an "electronic" Captains meeting (email). If some of us locals want to get together, we certainly can do that and since Robert offered, he can buy the first round!
