Bimini Trip 2013

On Pandora, they have a Jimmy Buffet channel. Other than Buffet music on that channel, there is country music (some of which I like) and Reggae music (which I like). I also like Bahamian music......

Hey Randy, Bimini Bay, how far is that from BBG? I remember riding through there on the golf cart, they do have availability for my late planner friend........

Good idea! BB is about 2 miles north of Big Game, you just keep heading north in the channel past BG and you'll get to BB. He should call to check on resservations

I sent him a text to do so, if he doesn't he's gonna b sh*$ outta luck

Ok, I'll let him know but don't think he'll go that route, he's in a 280 like mine.

Randy, Islandhopper/Mike told me he can't make it due to work.

I appologize for missing this. Lance is right. Work is getting in the way so I will not be able to make the trip. I have to maintain certain qualifications for the work I do, and one of my requals is scheduled right during this trip.

Ya'll have a great time, Bimini is beautiful.

I will be making a family trip to the Abaco's this year over the fourth of July. We leave out of Lake Worth Inlet, and run to West End Grand Bahamas, then out into the Abaco's.

Enjoy, Mike

I've anchored accross from Blue Water Marina and overnighted. It worked out fine. We rafted three boats, and set many anchors. Good thing because a storm passed that night and the anchors held us off the flats. It's doable.

I found a pic of us anchored up.

Here's a pic of us pulling into Alice Town.

Here we are tied up at Blue Water.

If you look at the Flybridge Tiara, that's my uncles boat. If you look closer you'll notice a 9.9 honda outboard on the swimplatform. He has crossed to Grand Bahamas using that thing! He has alot of patients. haha

Randy, Bimini Bay is the only marina left with slips on Bimini. Check this out, they told him 10 a ft. for slip, I thought, BS, so I called just now.......5.00 a ft. plus 15.00 a day electric. That's 165.00 a night for a 30' boat....... I'd stay home if it were me, we'll see what he does...... I think I'm paying 90.00 a night at BBG for the same sized boat....

What is also interesting is that Bimini Bay shut down at the end of last year 2 months. I guess there are now trying to make up for the loses. don't forget, he will get $300 if he stays for 4 nights

I'm thinking this will be a "deal breaker" for him, which I can't blame him...... We shall see, like he told me, "I can get a room for that price", and he works at the airline, so flying is free...... And he wouldn't have to gas up over there for 6.30 a gallon.....
