Baltimore Inner Harbor 2009

We anticipate that Steps Ahead and three other boats (Campbell Sloop, Knot Anchored and Dip-Sea-Diva) will be attending the festivities. We have made our reservations at the marina to arrive 27 June and depart 29 June.

In total, I think that the crews of these boats include 8 adults, 1-2 young adults (college/high school), and 6 elementary school kids. We look forward to putting faces with the names of everyone!

OK, let's get some trash talking, going...

Bridog, there may be an event up in Atlantic City, but it's not really competition. And I don't mean not as is not lobster, none of which I didn't have as I was not not there that year. (?) Anyway, there's the BIH and then there are all others. I know that 'cause I've been to a whopping 1 BIH. Got the shirt to prove it.

BIH Class of 2008 rules!

Even the dogs get name tags at BIH!

It wasn't my intentions to start a challenge since I didn't attend BIH, nor can I make the AC trip this year. That said.... my money is on the AC guys this year as "the CSR trip of the year. (they have Gary AND Mike aka Turtle Tone) I hope they don't let me down. Someone should post a poll after both trips to see who's was better and who the real wimpy boaters are. :)

Well, this year AC may have Turtle, and Gary, and Dom, and Frank, and Stan and his Margarita machine, and all those other characters, but BIH has one thing... Tradition. and free vodka! So yes, bring on the poll.

Not so sure about the free vodka... haven't heard from that dude in a while...

We are not really sure about Baltimore so I have not committed... we may come though. Depends on our schedules this summer. We just have a bunch of stuff going on this summer that is putting boating on the back burner for 2009 (and probably 2010).

Kids going on a missions trip, oldest going off to college, second oldest visiting colleges, band camp, etc (I feel like Frank H.)

We knew this time was coming so it's not a surprise... can't complain though. We've had lots of boating in the 480 over 6 full seasons.

Well, if you're short on time and just want to come for a day, you can have the penthouse suite (the bridge) on my boat. It's pretty comfortable, but you are definitely up with the sun. All the interior spaces have been claimed.

Ah yes... and leave my 17 and 18 year old sons at home for a week or two all alone?
How much trouble could they get into? :smt101 Can't you view all those security cameras via the web anyway? Throw a few web-enabled GPSs on the cars and you're good to go!

If I had the time, I'd meet up with you Gary at BIH and then head back to AC together, but I've already planned a trip to Belmar Seafood Festival for the June 13th weekend, and I have a small trip planned for the following (Father's Day) weekend. I'm gonna need some time on the June 26th weekend to re-group and get ready for the July 4th weekend.

Or... bring the boat to BIH and leave it there a week. Have one of your older kids drive a car and meet you there. Do the reverse for AC the following week.
