Any virus warnings?

It also could be a false virus warning its NOT uncommon to get a false virus warning sometimes. :smt024

There is no antivirus software that is 100% accurate. :smt021

You might want to get a refund on that. What I am referring to is your computer guy telling you that a virus came from this site specifically. There are THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of people that use this site. If this site was a source of a virus there would be an uproar. It actually happened about a year ago. So its likely from another site you go to, or he is just taking your money.
Yes, I know it happened about a year ago. It got me twice. That time the repair guy showed me the connection to this site(via something to do with ads) and in an effort to help I phoned you to report it. If I remember correctly there was a mini uproar not too long back, a few threads were started on the subject I think, and it was around then that I also had trouble.

Beyond your anti-virus software giving you a warning, is anything bad actually happening to your computer? Jim's advice sounds good to me.

Not since this summer. But there is the script thing and the computer slows way down(does that count?). Hey, it's not a big deal...Jim asked a question and I responded, maybe it helps and maybe it don't. Gotta go, Lake Superior is flattening out and I hear the boat calling.

I just got this message from Avast tonight when I logged on:

About AVAST Software

In the late 1980s, Czech computer technology innovators Eduard Kucera and Pavel Baudis developed a program they called “anti-virus advanced set” (AVAST). Later, they realized the serendipity of ‘avast’ being also an English-language nautical term meaning “stop!” – as they would eventually develop their vision into one of the world’s top-ranked antivirus softwares.
Just like in the beginning, we still believe that all internet users need and deserve antivirus protection – one that is dependable, fast, reasonably sized, and unobtrusive… one that scans and updates automatically, and gives only an occasional reminder that it works. As a result, our avast! Free Antivirus is a full-featured product that routinely outperforms many of our competitors’ paid products.

Compared to in the past, when email was the key method for spreading viruses, our Virus Lab research shows that more than 80% of malware now spreads via the internet. More notably, only 1% comes from suspicious or ‘dodgy’ sites – the rest spreads via legitimate websites that have been hacked.
Yes, that was close, but relax...

avast! Free Antivirus is the minimum protection anyone should have against viruses and spyware. If you spend a lot of time online, however, you are naturally exposing yourself to greater threat. Fortunately, you can increase your security by adding more defensive layers.

Malwarebytes is also picking it up from IP 218.8.80.11. IP search came up with somewhere in Russia.

Ya, it happened to me twice today, did you get this with it?

Danger: Surf-Shield has detected active threats on this page and has blocked access for your protection. The page you are trying to access has been identified as a known exploit, phishing, or social engineering web site and therefore has been blocked for your safety. Without protection, such as that in the AVG Security Toolbar and AVG, your computer is at risk of being compromised, corrupted or having your identity stolen.

I got the warning yesterday when I opened the thread about the boat falling off the blocking...

IP-BLOCK 217.8.80.11 (Type: outgoing)
I spent a 1/2hr searching and this is not harmful. :smt001

Put it on the malwarebytes ignore list. I'd be more worried if it was incoming. :smt024

It appears the problem link/picture/etc has been removed??? I'm not getting the warning any more. Any body getting it?

Just took it off the ignore list no warning from this lappy . :smt001

I just got Troj/JSAgent-AF HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\AntiVirusOverride

1st time it's poped up, Mike.

My PC at work got this warning yesterday afternoon and again this am when opening the site. We are using Symantec and it is finding a tracking cookie and deleting it, no other info avail.

I've been experiencing a strange behavior on this site. Periodically I've been getting the standard Internet Explorer Security warning screen populated by "A website wants to open web content using this program on your computer. Name: Microsoft (c) Register Server, Publisher: Microsoft Windows. Allow/Don't Allow buttons. I think I allowed the first time I saw it. The tab (I'm on IE9) then froze and I could not kill it. Bringing up another tab with CSR worked fine. I could only get rid of the offending instance by closing Windows. It's come back twice right after re-starts and I know I haven't approved since the first time but each time the tab has frozen. I've been unable to find any evidence on the web of this being something wide-spread so maybe it's just my machine. No problems noted from scans on a couple of leading anti-malware tools either. Not seeing this behavior from any other websites.
