Any virus warnings?

I just got this again

THREAT BLOCKED
Danger: Surf-Shield has detected active threats on this page and has blocked access for your protection.

The page you are trying to access has been identified as a known exploit, phishing, or social engineering web site and therefore has been blocked for your safety. Without protection, such as that in the AVG Security Toolbar and AVG, your computer is at risk of being compromised, corrupted or having your identity stolen. Please follow one of the suggestions below to continue.

URL: ie.browsingsave.ru/main.php?page=4eb6c97dbac45c59
Name: Blackhole Exploit Kit (type 1889)

Is there any way to temporarily disable the Google ads to see if that stops all these warnings? Maybe for 24 hours just to eliminate that as a source of all the virus warnings????

Yes Jason, Firefox with adblocker. :smt001. I see no ad's what so ever and I'm a supporter of this site.

Sorry but I'm not drinking tonight still sick. :smt021. :smt089

I use google chrome and have yet to see any of these warnings. I gave up IE years ago because of things like this that drive me crazy.

Jim, I also use Google Chrome with Eset "Smart Security" and I have not seen any of these warnings either. :smt038

Using Firefox and AVG anti virus software, when on home page, message comes up as "active threat" something about "black hole (1889)" have no idea what that means... D

You guys are still Compu-tards. . . . .

I guess what Jim & Mark & Myself said all along might be true :smt017. DUMP IE and be done with it !!. :smt001

C.T do you have adblocker also ??

Something else to consider is YOUR computer may be infected, from other web activities, and something on this site is a "trigger" for it to spring into action.

Because you have a virus on your computer does not mean it's active at the point of infection. It could be time delayed, triggered by a script or action, etc. All of the errors that have ever been reported here point to another IP address or domain, and NONE of the attack notices read "clubsearay.com" or CSR's IP address.

Again, a few things you should run would be a full AV scan, CCleaner which is free, HiJackThis, which is free, Ad-Aware, again free, and ComboFix (Most effective but use with extreme caution).

Norton and McAfee, in my experience are terrible. Avast and NOD32 seem to do a ok job (as an Antivirus tool), but none of the aforementioned AV scanners seem to do it all (I mean AV, Malware, Phishing, etc.). Typically multiple tools are required and I bet those that have reported in this thread issues.... if you ran HiJackThis, you would have questionable items on your computer.

This site is useful for finding and downloading many of the tools mentioned above: http://www.majorgeeks.com/topdownloads.php

Wayne, I like you and don't want to go here, but when these topics come up you present yourself as a know it all and make demeaning comments that are unhelpful. I am confident there is nothing on this site and was before Jim and Mark did their sweep. Why? Because that is what my fully up-to date protection said it was. If you like another browser good for you, talk it up. But your lack of knowledge concerning how much of the rest of the world functions is tedious. Many corporate machines run their software on IE. IT WILL NOT RUN ON ANY OTHER BROWSER!!! Many users are either not allowed to download other software or warned against it as it may conflict with the drivers needed to make their software run properly. Most of the world runs IE and trouble makers rarely spend time on your beloved browsers. However if they did most of them would be shut down in less than an hour and would be gone for weeks as they cannot match the infrastructure IE has trying to defend us from them. MM

Thanks again Jim and Mark for the info. MM

Running Firefox has nothing to with your Win OS drivers. :smt024 Its just a browser like IE but safer. :smt001

I like you too Mike but remember the upgrade on here ??

I knew more about the new vBulletin than they did and you guys. :smt017

I'm just fun'in with you guys that's all. No harm done and nobody got hurt. :smt001

This is the same tedious tripe.

Most of us hadn't used VBulletin before and there were problems that Jim and Mark fixed that made it work better after they stopped listening to your cheerleading.

Just saying how some feel on a serious issue. MM

Mcafee just displayed a warning at the top of page saying this site contains possible hazardous web content, do I want to allow it?

After 3 warnings on my work laptop, they took it away and gave me a new one. The new one gets the same warning... The IT Dept blocked the IP address. It is something from Russia that is linked to this site. Since they blocked the IP, no more issues.

Since the update my spell check does not work and the penant logo has changed to a V on my desktop and in the IE title bar. Was this intentional?
