Any one out there from Milwaukee on yet? Looking to here the latest on Lake front redevelopement plans and McKinely Marina.
The new Lake State Park will be opening this spring with Limited facilities. Docks will be open on the island at Summerfest.

Racine - Reef Point. Hope you get lots of info., I'll be interested. Never spent a day or night in a Milwaukee Marina. The McK. reputation, among those I know, is so bad, I'm intimidated.
Maybe next year.

Mike,
Was born and raised in Milwaukee's south side. moved to Green Bay 31YAG.Just go back to see the fam. Milwaukee is a great city, Like Green Bay alot better.

We are down the KK River at SB Dry Stack - we are planning on spend weekends at the State Parl docks by Discovery World this summer, in addition to Reefpoint, Port Washington and Sheboygan.

We are ready to go in the water - it is just still too cold!

Not from Milwaukee but I remember offshore racing there way back in 2003.
It was a nice waterfront back then and I'm sure it has only gotten better.

Just a thought - for one of the Summerfest or other summer lakefront events, we should think of putting together a Club Sea Ray raft-up.

I'd be VERY interested in this. This will be our first summer with the boat, and we are looking forward to summer nights in Milwaukee, and looking for tips and advice on how to make the best of it!

Whats the docking/transient slip situation for SummerFest?

There are State Park Docks that you can reserve as a part of the Island park, or you can dock at Discovery World. We usually anchor is the area just off the Discovery World and from there you can hear the music coming from the north end of Summerfest. If you tie up at Discovery World or take one of the state daocks, you can walk to the enterance of Summerfest.

Another Milwaukee boater here. DaFish summed it up. Summerfest is a great time to visit with the boat. Best view of the fireworks IMO unless you're inside the US Bank building.

Hi Milwaukee Folks!

While I spend most of my time on the water in the city to the south, I am planning on taking a group up to Milwaukee this summer for the Air Show.

Shame on me, but I haven't been to Milwaukee (via water) in several years. I'd like to book a transient slip for August 10-12, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the best location.

We're an early 30s-something group if that makes any difference!

Thanks!

As far as amenities, McKinley Marina will best amenities. Floating docks, electric, water, bathrooms, shower, ice, fuel dock and ships store. It is right at the South end of the flight path for air show. Usually Friday is practice day and has a lot of jets up.
McKinley Marina
1750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202
(414) 273-5224
Lake State Park is another option which is located between Summerfest and Discovery world. There are no bathrooms / showers or water available.

Thanks for the ideas - I figured McKinley would be the spot. Not too concerned about amenities since I use those onboard, but nice docks make for a happy arrival!
