In our 2000 260DA we have the round Cockpit table that when you sit at the aft settee area we're crowded around the small round table like Cub Scouts roasting marshmallows on a Den Mother's Marlboro.
I made this out of some Mahagony wood that my Grandfather had saved since the 40's. He told me years ago before he passed away that he used to go down to the ship yards and docks of his Ballard Neighborhood of Seattle and get the crating at a glass importer. Anyway after he died and my Gramma moved out of the house be built, I found this old, old wood maybe 400' in a huge overhead cabinet he built in his garage. I brought all of it home. This crating is made of rough cut mahagony. Nail holes and distressing, really turns beautiful when planed, sanded, stained and coated with clear.
Here's a Drawer and desk I made my Dad a few years ago using the same wood.
In all this stock I have, there is some white Mahagony, that would be tremendously expensive if I were to go and buy it.
So here are a couple pictures.
Next I'll finish sanding and a friend of mine with spray with a catalyzed clear finish.
