Adding Corsa Exhaust

That's awesome. I love it. Some people don't like noise, like some folks don't like cruisers! I notice this board is mostly, not completely but mostly older cruiser folks. Which is fine, I guess that is why they have different discussion forums (Sport Boats) so we can talk about what interests us.
 
I have to say I love the Corsa on my 270 Select SLX with the 496 HO - given my boat is docked behind my home it certainly gets the neighbours up on a Saturday morning, it is my payback for my )(*&^% neighbour with the leaf blower.

250SLX: If I would have heard the Corsa exhaust before I bought my boats, I would not have them any other way. Definitely a consideration on any future boat for me.

270Wakeboarder: I agree. I personally would hate to sink a few hundred dollars worth of gas into something that goes 35-40mph. But of course that is just my opinion. Just like I personally wouldn't buy a pontoon, but definitely see their advantages to those that love them.

Caymancanuck: If I attend the TN rendezvous it looks like I've already been commissioned to do the same thing for a wakeup call. :)

Hoo'sdave: Thanks! Yellow sold me on both of my boat purchases. In fact, after my 200 sport, I told the dealer the 220 select had to be yellow or no deal. I'll post pics after a good wax, and you'll see to this day, the yellow gelcoat looks brand new.
 
Nice looking boat Geurk, I've never seen /heard a Corsa close up, but looking at your pics, I'm curious, how do they keep water out of the exhaust port? Does the exhaust go up from the motor, and then down to the exhaust port on the side?

I guess it's time for me to take a trip up to my Sea Ray dealer, and see one up close if he has one. (it's a 50 mile trip, but I have some other stuff to do up near him too.)

Great looking boat. If you dont mind, what did it end up costing for parts/labor? This is a mod I wouldnt mind having even though I only have the 5.7 EFI.

Did you need to put different manifolds/risers on when adding the Corsa exhaust?

BTW, it looks great. I'm sure it sounds incredible!
 
Thanks for the compliments guys. If you have a subwoofer on your PC it gives it a more realistic sound. In person, you can 'feel' the exhaust. It has a very deep sound to it.

I'll have to post a video of my new ski too, it sounds awesome, but in a whole different way. It has a small roar to it with the hiss of a supercharger to go with it. Lots of fun.. :)

I don't think any manifolds/risers had to be changed. The steps for install were:

1) Drill holes for stainless exhaust tips.
2) Drill holes in engine compartment to allow exhaust pipes to go from engine, through storage, and out the sides.
3) There are diverters installed that have an electrical solenoid that, with a flip of a switch from the helm, route the exhaust either through the thru-hull exhaust or through the prop.
 
Man, that thing sounds BAD! Does it stop smoking once it warms up? How about the smell? Family ok with it?

Thinking that would be cool to have!
 
I liked the comments ..."Is it supposed to smoke like that?" That's exactly the comments I would get from Mrs. Bridog after an expensive modification. I think your boat with the yellow hull is absolutely incredible looking. Anyway, you are 100% right that it's your boat and if you like it then that's all that matters. I tried adding another sound clip you might enjoy while relaxing out on the water(Comedian Sam Kinnison's scream) but I couldn't figure out how to link it.:grin:
 
GEURK! I've come back here and watched this video like 5 times already! I really like that thing man, wonder how much more timid it would sound with my 5.0.
 
You may want to a search for a member by the name of Fasterblaster and shoot him a PM. If I am not mistaken he has a 5.0 with Corsa Exhaust. :thumbsup:

I have got to record the old 496 this weekend. I have got to tell you that I already know that it doesn't sound any better than that 350 of yours.
The whole noise discussion reminds me of the old saying about riding Harleys. "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand"
