A Sailor's last Voyage....

..........I need to really thank everyone again. Tomorrow will be a big big day.

Stay tuned

Todd there is absolutely nothing I can add to what has already been said.
Just wanted you to know of yet another here that wishes nothing less than the best on your voyage tomorrow. Scott
Same here Todd. I hope all goes well. Your a good man. Your father must be very proud, as you are with him. Good luck!

Todd, sorry to hear about you father. Hoping for nice weather for you and that it can be enjoyed as best as possible by everyone.

SAY GOODBYE TO SAILOR MAN -Gordon Freitas
Anchors aweigh to sweet liberty
Pack in a chest full of proud memories
Twenty years passed and this party must end
Say goodbye to sailor man

Wish him fair winds and following seas
Strike up the band and let the flags fly free
Pipe him ashore and salute an old friend
Say goodbye to sailor man

He joined the Navy to see the big world
In every port he left a heart broke girl
Setting sail with the tide and chasin’ the sun
Been over and under the seven seas
His mission in life to keep the sea lanes free
There was a job to do so he got it done
So say goodbye to sailor man
Say goodbye to sailor man

Will there be regrets, will he feel the pain
Of losing it all, starting over again
Will he cling to the rock when it’s time to run
He played the game and he found the part
Where the glory road ends and the living’ starts
Now this is a day he thought would never come
So say goodbye to sailor man
Say goodbye to sailor man

Stand tall in ranks as we bid him farewell
Blow that shiny whistle and bang that old bell
Hand the man a flag and take his picture too
Place his medals and ribbons in a shadow box
Mount them on velvet right next to a clock
Save a little space for the red white and blue
Then say goodbye to sailor man
Say goodbye to sailor man
Say goodbye to sailor man

I stole that. I'm afraid I may use it - too soon.

Have a great day, I know you will be able to make memories that last a lifetime. I feel for you. I wish I had the opportunity that you do. I would have loved to be able to do something like that before my dad died.

On a related note, I took my older daughter out with some friends (just the kids, no spouse or siblings) a couple of weeks ago. I'm doing the same today with my younger daughter. Maybe they'll return the favor in, say, about 40 years.

Hope you’re having a great day on the water.

Amazing, towing the boat through Everett and Lynnwood to Ballard(in Seattle) this morning there was snow on the ground. Anyway looks to be a great day. HELLO it's APRIL 3rd! I'm just getting the boat launch. My brother and Dad will be down here in a couple of hours.

Thanks for the great thoughts

Todd,

Hope all is going your way today! Glad to hear you're not letting a little white powder put a damper on things.

Skal!

Hello Todd,

I know it's going to be difficult maybe, but try to enjoy this day!

All the best for you and your family.

Peter

Great, great trip. We just pulled out. I'll post pictures later, but thanks for the fantastic thoughts and indulging me sharing this.

So I'm trailering home and picking up Mo and the kids, continuing North and maybe stay at Sucia tonight. Then to Poet's Cove tomorrow

Todd, Very glad that the day turned out so well!! We were out on the lake today, thinking about you all day and hoping that you were having a wonderful time. You are so lucky to be able to enjoy this time with your dad, the memories are what lasts a lifetime. You are both lucky to have each other in your lives. When it all boils down to it............ family, loved ones and friends are the most important things any of us can have. Keep enjoying and supporting each other! You are truly a super person Todd!! Enjoy your trip to beautiful Poets Cove too. That will be nice and relaxing!! Our prayers & thoughts are with you! Don & Dana

Here is some pics of today's trip.
My Dad's friends showed up at Mike's chili parlor(my Dad's best friend's place)

We hung out there for an hour, had a burger and beer then hit the water.

We ran down to Ballard Oil where My Dad worked for 20+ years.
He sat with his lifelong friend and owner of Ballard Oil, Warren.

Dad said it was nice to get out of the house and get into some fresh air.

I'm really glad we did this and for any of you considering it, it's not too late. I was a bit of work moving him onto the boat, but just a few extra minutes and lifting.
