A cute 190 Stopped in for a restoration

Yes. It has very nice lines. With all the hardware off it, It has almost the side profile of a mini Skater. I am just about set to go to paint. I just need the weather to join me in my time frame. This thing started out as some minor maintenance and a buffing and has become a total restoration. He asked today about new deck hardware. It's going to be one sweet boat when done.

Excellent series of videos, enjoying the choreography. Looking forward to seeing the paint go on.

WillnLori that is one nice looking boat -
do you have any photo's of the interior?

JEMCO, Thanks for the compliment. I do have a few. I will need to go thru the picture posting learning exercise, or PM your email address and I can send them directly to you. I probably shouldn't continue with this on Spookeay's resto thread.

In the first photo, it's , primer is going on the SRV 190. Yes,, bugs and dust and junk.... But it all sands out.... The final paint... Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm Not so forgiving as the primer...

SO we decided to enlarge our spray booth to accommodate up-to a 30 foot boat..... Not that a SRV 190 is 30 feet but when it's on a trailer and the customer only wants it painted from the chine up it is.

So some photos of a new
30L x 16W x 10H spray booth . It should be operational tomorrow.

Stay tuned folks, the painting of the SRV 190 is in the next few days. I know it's been some time since this thread was updated but we had some unseasonaly cold weather here in the heart of Dixie during February. Owwww and,,,,,,Sexy Horse just may show up in the video too!!

Nice paint job. Was that shot of the reflection of your hand straight off of the gun or did you buff it out first? If it was straight off the gun, my hat's off to you. You make my spray jobs look pitiful. What kind of gun and what size tip did you use?

Only a one beer spray job? You should have milked it for at least a six pack. The boss would have never figured it out.

You promised Gary that sexy horse would make an appearance... Well? What gives? No horse.

Hey skibum. Yea that is right off the gun. I use a Satajet 90, I for get the tip that's on it right now. As for the beer, I only had time for one between coats.

Due the the confines of the spray booth and the toxic property of polyurethane, sexy horse opted to show up in the last video during presentation back to the owner.

Well the owner came by today and was very very happy.

I guess it's all back up hill from here. We started to put the rub rails back on. I painted these with a metallic silver. They were just to beat up to put back on as they were. I ground them down with the grinder to get all the deep gouges faired out then smoothed them with the Fien Multi-master with some 400. Sprayed acrylic enamel metallic sliver and Vala! That's all it took. Booty-full!

Maybe when this is done I can go to the lake for my self? Owww and,, and,,, maybe work on that boat I have.
I forget,,, what it is now? a 270? :smt021 Ummm been to long!

I curious, how does the paint you use hold up below the water line, and what did you do about the places where the trailer covered the hull? Unless of course he is planning on bottom painting the boat, in which case, it doesn't matter.

Bingo..... Spot on!

Yes, he's going to bring it back next season for us to do the bottom paint.

He wants to use a electric teal for the bottom paint. He keeps the boat at the maria and just stores the trailer. I want to talk him into restoring the trailer also.

It's original. It has the coil spring suspension, shocks and baby moon hubcaps. A great 100% original classic SeaRay trailer. I think it has the original tires too!:wow:
