This 1970 190 came in for a restoration.
I would call it a refresh becasue it's in pretty good shape.
It needs new gel coat and chrome. Also he wants to reupholster it becasue it's becoming brittle.

Always covered he says, and I believe it.
This will be my first Sea Ray restoration for a customer.:smt038

I was referring to the name on the boat in your signature. There was a 200 plus episode program on the SciFi channel called stargate they used a rotating ring to generate a worm hole that had at its face a shimmering graphic they call an event horizon. The process of entering the event horizon was called gating.

From Wiki "In general relativity, an event horizon is a boundary in spacetime, most often an area surrounding a black hole, ..."

You get the idea. Really nothing to do with the post the great work and the great tips you have provided thanks.

Ahhh ok I get it.... Yes I know what the event horizon is... But the name is not taken from Stargate, but the movie Event horizon. about a ship that went in a black hole and came out in hell. Then came back out. I did the play on the Z by using a X because it looked cool and sounded the same.

In after thought it should read this way.

From Wiki "In general relativity, an event horizon is a black hole sucking money, most often at an area surrounding a boat or the government"

Well you are going to love Part II.
I did it at 2 times speed becasue to watch it in real time would be much like watching Paint dry or grass grow.

Also since I am a lover of dead boats, I thought the music would be fun.

Very cool Heather! I'll be watching for the next 4 parts!!! :smt038

Because I make it 6 parts.
It's all forward thought.
If I think about it I say this.

Part 1 Introduction.
Part 2 Dismantling.
Part 3 Body work.
Part 4 Painting.
Part 5 Rebuilding.
Part 6 Presentation.

Well it may take a bit longer for part 3. It's going to be a bad bad week here with temps freezing in the day and in the teens to single digits at night, maybe snow on Thursday.

This is a problem for us. We are not set up to work in that kind of cold here in the shop.

This is a rare event. Last time I remember something like this was back in the blizzard of 1993.

You need some nice big propane or kerosene powered heaters for your shop! rentals aren't too bad for them usually...

I have some propane heaters, they are the tall patio type and do well in the average cold we have. But this... this is crazy. I hope it dose not last more than a few days.
I understand Florida is going to get it too.

More like this one. You can place it 20' from your work and be toasty as can be! Most rental yards will have them available for a reasonable price.
