How’s the fuel burn?

She does love some fuel. .25 mpg to this point.
We were of course running against a current most of the day so we will keep our fingers crossed that it improves a little.
We cruised at 25-27 mph most of the day but I did let her breathe a little for the last 10 miles yesterday on up to 33 mph which got the kitty cats up to about 70% load.

It seems like most of the folks on here are from the Great Lakes area so all of the stuff I’m seeing for my first time is stuff most of you see every day.

For those of you who are like me and have never seen this before here’s a few pics from yesterday’s travel.

I’ve seen ships in the ocean before but it’s pretty cool how close we get to these big freighters.

The thing that surprises me most is how incredibly blue the water is.

Glad to hear so far so good! Were you dodging indian fishing nets in Erie? When I came up last Friday we had to change course twice to go around them.
If you looked to your left when you took the picture of the Ambassador Bridge, you would have seen 100's of F150 pickups sitting waiting for chips.
Yes, the current does take a toll on the fuel economy. When I hit the Detroit River, I had been running 23ish knots and dropped to under 22 knots same rpm.

Impressive CATS! 1385 HP 3412's - right?
I'm .35 mpg at 80% load and 27 mph w/ full fuel with my 900 HP MANs (29 mph at 1/2 fuel)..

Actually C30s @ 1550 hp.
She can hit 40 top end and full of fuel. We did it during the sea trial with 9 people on board.

Earlier we were cooking eggs @ 30 mph with 6 foot swells.

There were lots of small fishing boats piled up right in the middle of the river.
We had to slow to trolling speed for about an hour or we would made a mess of them.

When you look at this boat specifically, it was truly ahead of its time. The lines on it are much closer to the lines of boats today vs. when it was actually manufactured. Such a beautiful boat.

C30"s - those are V-12's? I really agree with the comment above about the styling! Beautiful boat - congratulations. I guess the C-30's are the ACERT version of the 3412's...

Yes sir. V12s

You still cruising today? Some gnarly weather thinking about heading your way pretty soon, particularly further north.

We’re under an hour to port for the night.
We just hit fog again so we’re putting along.
We’ll be in before any weather has a chance to get ahold of us.

Where’s port tonight?

We’re at the Cheboygan County Marina.
Yes it’s starting to drizzle on us now.
We’re seeing the storm coming at us.
