48 DA Owners Club

how about the fact my engines are facing forward?
Flywheel facing the stern.
oh... I definately caught that aftercooler on the "wrong" side....LOL

I provided some pics of the 3" drop fins I added over the winter previously, and finally got to try them out this past weekend. They performed even better than I had hoped, and actually picked up .6 MPH from last season in nearly identical conditions at the same RPM with them all the way down. I found with the tabs about 1/2 way down, the bow rise was about even with where it was with them all the way down last season.

Tom, can you drop a pic again of these... or a link to the page.

Well guys I have sold my much loved 48 Sundancer to a very nice couple. It was taken out of its protected and covered slip on Saturday. I will still hang around here until I can figure out what I want to do for fun in the future. I may have to start a Pachanga Thead.
WOW... I assume you have something else in mind already???? I assume you got all the money as the prices are going up nicely I have been following.

Hahaha...

Switching gears... Has anyone ever replaced the rubber bushings on the windshield wipers? I saw a on AM Equipment

but curious if anyone tackled this one and how hard or easy a job it was.
Thanks!

I need to do mine but that scares me as last time I pulled wipers on an old boat the splines came with them. For sure you will need a puller and some patience I am thinking. I masked off the glass and painted the arms as they were faded but still afraid to pull the arms.....you first!!!

Yes I have replaced the grommet/bushing, it's a piece of cake to do. I actually want to take of my wipers and repaint them black. They are weathered looking now. Spray with some lubricant before trying to pull them off the spindle.

JB,
Do you remove them from the top or is there some panels you had to remove to get at them?

JB,

Is the shaft have 2 flats on it and the spline actually slides on like this or are the splines on the tapered shaft? Did you find the actual grommets from somewhere?

Congratulations! Wife and I are still looking at options/jobs to get to Nashville.

I added 3" drop fins, and while at it 3" of length as well.

Were the tabs not adequate ?
I felt like there was always too much bow rise, and even more so when our dinghy was on the platform. Now that I've seen what the drop fins can do, I wish I had done the same thing to my 410DA.

Yes you remove the wiper arms and then the grommets can be removed. I ordered them from a Sea Ray dealer. If you find them elsewhere please let me know.

Part number? It does not break it out in the parts manual.
